I just have to think that whatever they paid you for this, it was worth it. Having a game you are currently making and getting to watch someone like Floydson, note his reactions, what he responds to, what he doesn't, what he never finds or misunderstands...and having it all documented for them nicely in the form of a video? That's a fucking jackpot as a developer. Floydson plays a lot of these games, but also isn't a super hardcore player, he tends to explore on his own at first and both can figure stuff out AND fail to figure stuff out (Which is perfectly fine, you want to know that stuff!).

You can take the damage and/or the other stats of crafted weapons and such even farther by using gilded lumber in recipes that require lumber - (any recipe that needs lumber you can do this with) - So, for example, you can make pellucidic etched ingot gilded advanced yew, then make the pole out of that, then use that to craft the weapon for a large bonus to stats. Same with guns as well, you can make swamp wood gilded with pursuit to further increase the stats. Don't forget minor cards when crafting, either. Some will provide bonus physical traits to the stuff you craft. This can range from things like extra durability, reduced stamina cost, even less weight or extra critical damage. Drop one into the remote card machine, then scroll to the bottom of the description for each card, you will see exactly what bonuses it applies to which item categories.

I actually enjoyed the vibe of this one far more than most survival games (I've played tons with Valheim being my fav so far) but they def need to revamp the combat and balancing to make it feel more necessary/worthwhile to craft things with good stats and lean in more to the fae realm randomness and weirdness so it stands out. I guess the way I would describe it currently is that it's not super fun but still feels decently rewarding when you craft good gear and def not something I've seen any other owsc do (even if the decisions for crafting are pretty obvious)

They really need to add an intro section or at least a cinematic in nightingale with us and others escaping the fog: give people an image to work towards rather than the vague concept of it. Got my fingers crossed that they actually put focus on developing more content and flushing out and revamping what is here as it could become a very good and unique survival craft but right now the only thing that's really polished are the visuals (I did everything the game has to do but took my sweet time with 110hrs)

Great video... Only one thing. While I was watching there was a point where my brain actually jerked to a halt and went, "Wait, what the heck did he just say?" It came as you were talking about crafting and materials. You said something like you'd never seen another game where you could build your tools/equipment using various materials, and the stats would change... WHAT?! Have you never played survival games before? Aside from games like Ark, which there are a ton... I mean, Minecraft also comes to mind. Iron -> Gold -> Diamond. Materials change, stats change, both tools and armor. This is an EXTREMELY common thing in these kinds of games.
@spicedmemes14723 ай бұрын
Pretty sure he means in such detail, those game dont have items with stats like +30% ranged damage +5% hp per second etc. Etc. Ive seen survival games with those details, but having different material stats for the same material tier is something pretty unique, atleast to me
