The "birth" control is actually pain medication!!! The MC is canonically disabled :3 they start using a cane when they move into their own appartment by themselves! It can be seen in the lil basket w the umbrella

The thing you can't identify is a photocopier/scanner, just a slim and easily portable version. Also the mat in the bathroom is a no slip mat to prevent someone from slipping and falling in the shower, usually people use them if they have a very slick bathtub but they're also very useful for disabled people to help them better not slip.
