I've always loved the 4:3 at the end! There is a cadence called "Cache 22" by Castella that has these gnarly 5:3 's that are awkward but fun to play

Had the lovely privilege of being taught by Tom Knapp who worked with the cavaliers a lot. My high school marched this as a cadence. Loved it every time.

Love it! One of my favorite jams ever, brings back fond memories of getting cut from Cavies '07 😉 One thing I noticed though - on quads, the phrase that occurs twice with the swisses on the rim/around the drums (letter C, then letter H), the 4th bar each time should actually have the R-hand diddles "scrape" from rim to drum 3 head, rather than stay on rim. Super easy to miss in the sheet music (been there) Great stuff man. Mapex suits you 👍
@joshuadetwiler79702 жыл бұрын
Can confirm, this and the triplet scrapes into the bass/snare feature are the most fun thing on the quad sheet.

Im no critic by a long shot but, if the snare and the tom parts had just the slightest. SLIGHTEST Variation! In contact strikes but keep the Baseline PERFECT. That would sound more realistic I think. Instead of just one loud snare, one loud tom and one quiet Bassline. I mean with everything perfect like that kind of defeats, the purpose of having so many of you duplicated. When it just sounds like one loud drum. Which I do realize is what all drum lines are striving for. But perfection is an impossibility. There’s always going to be that human variant that you can hear.
