He's not bad in VERY SPECIFIC DECKS. - Cycle decks because you CANNOT ignore bats or skeletons. And you can cycle back to your spells fast. - Splash decks or 3 spell decks because it can't handle swarm, at all.

The problem with cannoneer is how restrictive it is. With princess tower, all these different decks could be made. With cannoneer, the types of decks you can use vary so much less.

I don’t feel like it is, it is just that the entire game was built on chasing after princess towers, the change to add new tower troops kinda changes the dynamic of the game, forcing you to make new decks that work well with cannoneer, just like we were forced to make new decks with the princess tower since the beginning of the game

If you think about it, it's actually usable. 2.6's weakness was dealing with the heavy pushes, and this kinda solves that. I think this is actually a better option for the really cheap decks. For example, this makes 2.0 miner wb cycle a lot easier

Mother witch blenda very well with cannonner, because, if your opponent has swarmy troops you can punish him with a pig army. Also, the cannonner will kill troops very fast so you can also use mother witch in those cases to always make a pig pressure in the opponent

The Cannoneer needs to at least be able to hit troops that are on the King Tower. The fact that it can't is so damaging because you're screwed if you lose a tower, meaning that you really can't afford to tower trade at any point.
