Loved their personalities, hated the switching of camera angles and moving the digital board. Made keeping track of the game in real time very difficult.

It's nice to see good people that are also brilliant at Chess!
Anna could have mounted greater resistence by taking a queen on f2 with her king, instead of retreating the king to h2, and getting checkmated in two moves. She should have set up a blockade at c2 with a bishop and knight, she is right on time to do that, and that passer is going nowhere for quite some time. Yes, she is two pawns down, but in opposite-colored bishop endgame like this, it might have been holdable.

down to one minute against a grandmaster no way. But even if she had hours probably would still lose as its very easy for the grandmaster to play those winning endgames cause they know the patterns and can play very fast.
He says he has seen it before, but has no idea how to play against it, then easily refutes it on the fly with 9. ...Ng4 and 10. ...Ne5. What a champion! Guess Anna had a better 10th move she didn't find, though, according to the engine eval. But after that sequence it was all Nils.

I am not a chess expert but why didnt she took the queen with her king at 9:47 ? No one is backing queen so why not to take her ? I dont understand, someone explain this to me..
@yugiomoto22 жыл бұрын
Cause after king captures Queen knight d3 forks the king and the queen so black would capture the queen back. Still capturing the queen was a better move cause king h1 led to an instant mate

When he played Qf2+ at the end for fancy points, just take it and eat the knight fork. Still a long way to go. I'm sure it was time pressure.

I think thats what she was trying to do with her pawn push. Although I think the best move would be exd6, just shred open the center with a much better position Edit: checked with engine, exd6 is indeed the best move

I am currious cuss some moves i dont understand i hope someone can explain this to me In the end game the last few seconds. 9:47 He moves his queen to F2 Why didn't she just take with the King? who is at G1? There is nothing defending his Queen, and there is nothing attacking her Queen. I genuinely dont see the reason to not take that and be a queen up? So can someone explain to me what very obvious thing i was missing there? Edit. Nvm i found it. If she attacks the queen there, then the knight as a Fork between de king and the queen. Took me a bit longer but got it in the end
@cmnyc34932 жыл бұрын
Good call. He seems to hint at her that it was a trap by saying he did something fancy. She may not have figured it out or figured it out that quickly if he hadn’t. At this point he was very likely going to win either way.

When he played Q=F2, why you played K=H2??. You could've taken the Queen as I see no threat. Then Black N=D3 check, white king moved to H1 and Black wins white queen at B4. I am confused.
