Its incredible what Square did with Zack character. In original VII he was like a shadow gone, his most important scenes optional and hidden, yet they took that and evolved it intoa fully fledged charachter everybody loves , fun, optimistic, energetic, relatable...and who meets a tragic end and is forgotten by nearly everyone or with a bad remembering of him (as Elmyra, and Aerith to some degree) as they didnt know what really happened to him.Seeing Zack in his prime, his honor, hus dreams, yet knowing he isnt making it alive...this game is heartbreaking, moreso in 2008 when he was gone for good. Now at least after remake theres an alternate version of him alive it seems.

Now you know why so many of us wenr absolutely crazy when Zack showed up at the end of Remake. He is insanely beloved by so much of the fandom, he's great. Definitely my favorite FF7 character

Honestly, he might be my favourite character now too 😭 I recognised Zack and knew about him vagueley because of Kingdom Hearts & the original game, but this added context of his story just made me love him SO much!

I played the original on PSP. While I knew Zack had to die, they made such a good job making me attached to him that, in the end, I cried like a bitch. When I got Reunion, I told myself that I will, again, cry like a bitch. I did. In HD. Crisis Core to me also made me look at Cloud's condition not with humor, but with horror. Dig enough in the compilation of FF7, and you can see that Cloud wasn't well-liked in Nibelheim, became a pariah when Tifa tried to cross the mountains and ended up in a coma, while Cloud who tried to save her only got a broken ankle, left for the city to join SOLDIER, but never made it (reasons are still unclear up to this day, while Cloud totally had what it took physically, some says his mind wasn't at it, others says that since he joined after the Wutai war, the demand for SOLDIERs wasn't as high...), became a security grunt and lived a normal military life. Zack literally was his first friend. Then he comes to Nibelheim. Alongside his hero, Sephiroth and best friend Zack. He loses his town, his idol betrays him, he thinks Tifa is dead, he is then experimented on, leaving him in a coma, and when he comes back to, the first thing he sees is his best friend lying in a pool of his own blood, telling him to carry on his dreams and honor. I would have been more worried if Cloud was alright after such a trauma conga line!

1:07:30 It's amazing that you realized Sephiroth might know Aerith. She’s familiar with soldiers too, likely due to her childhood in Shinra with her mother. Sephiroth was there, and I think Professor Gast, Aerith’s father, raised him. Thanks for sharing your gameplay and reactions. Crisis Core is one of the best games I have ever played. Zack became my favorite FF character. FFVII isn’t complete without Zack.

Zack’s charisma levels are off the charts. These final fantasy games have some of the best character building and stories ever. I played Final Fantasy 7 remake for the first time 4 years ago and I couldn’t stop thinking about it for so long after. It was the first Final Fantasy game I ever played. Only great games do that to you. Games like cyberpunk, Witcher 3, the first last of us, a lot of Final Fantasy games, There’s a visual novel called the house in Fata Morgana. After finishing that I couldn’t stop thinking about it either that was crazy good. Same with Summer’s gone. That was such a surprisingly great VN. So good. There’s just some great written stories out there that you just remember forever.

You should react to the differences between the voice actors for Zack. Not saying who to like but it's cool to sometimes hear some people's opinions on the VA change. I'm not really a fan of Caleb Pierce and prefer Rick Gomez. Sounds more natural if I had to give it a word
