I do feel crowsworn will be good, but most other suggestions like nine sols, animal well, metroid dread, ender lilies, all other metroidvania classics like SOTN, Super Metroid, good as they may be, just seem to come short of the masterpiece that is the original Hollow Knight. To be fair I haven't tried all of the titles I've mentioned above, but I have tried many, or at minimum seen a good amount of gameplay. That feeling I got when I first played Hollow Knight, I just felt immersed in this world they created the moment I went down the well into the forgotten crossroads. And man, was there a lot of content by metroidvania standards. I can see why ppl are hype for Silksong. Hollow Knight was just special. Not saying the other games are not good, but at least for me, Hollow Knight is the standard to which every other metroidvania will be compared.

I realized everything borrows from something else, and very few things are totally unique, but I think this one crossed the line into being a direct rip off of HKs art style. Looks well done though.

Rip off how?? Hollow knight didn’t invent hand drawn art for games. Games like deviator are rip offs coz they are using spliced assets from hollow knight in there game. If could please point out where Crowsworn RIPPED off hollow knight? You HK fan boys are delusional and need to play other games. By your logic the entire souls series is a rip off of berserk.

@@Primacon First of all I'm not a hollow knight fanboy, but I am an artist. And I didn't say it ripped off HK. It did rip off the art style though as it is practically identical to HK's. Not similar, identical, and I'm speaking of the backrounds primarily. It's not the issue of using hand drawn art, there NOTHING wrong with doing that. In my opinion, the art style wasn't changed enough to make it their own. If you took out the characters and just looked at the backgrounds, you would think you were looking at HK. I just feel like some of it is a little too close to Hollow Knight, like loot coming out from the chest is literally an exact copy. Some of the effects, etc. I don't mind the similarities in style/combat, but it's like little things that really should have been made unique aren't and it feels weird...

They could have had the items come out, or a dot float into the air where you grab it, any number of things that look distinct from the source material. (Unless they have changed it and I don't know, the last time I saw it, it was an exact replica of Hollow Knight's chest/loot animation)
