Coach, I think DC20 is going to be huge. It’s already growing in beta. You already have influential ttrpg critics liking the rules. All hype, no marketing. People are going to want to run this on streams, particularly because the action points are flexible and the differences in the system are to solve specific gripes people had in the 5e experience. You’re listening to feedback and still trying to polish this thing to a shine. I’m telling you, people are going to catch on to how cool this system is and I can’t wait to see what happens after that.

I've heard a couple people gush about how unreal it feels to meet people in the TTRPG Actual Play community, and the truth is that until recently, the amount of people making this stuff was really small, so making stuff for them to use is a great way to meet them. I remember hearing Jasper and Jeremy from 3 black halflings gush about meeting Brennan too. They'd been doing their podcast born out of a love of the medium during the pandemic, and 4 months into their podcast, Brennan shows up on it. They were starstruck, but handled it really well. I also want to second how great Taylor Moore is. I listened to an interview he did with Brian Flaherty on the "My First Dungeon" podcast, and he immediately became a role model for me in how he supports creators.

It’s also funny to think about how surprised people are about getting to meet Brennan, specifically because of stuff which Jasper mentioned on the 3 Black Halflings podcast while he was there. Brennan consistently answers his emails, and has demonstrated time and time again that he loves supporting smaller content creators/using his presence to boost charity streams.

That's amazing. I'm really happy for you. My group and I have been working towards things that are in existence (virtual table tops, live stream gaming, homebrew systems, etc.) Since 2010. It's inspiring to see other's success and uplifting that we were and are still on the right path in our works. Man! I love fantasy. I love the story of some hobbits in a world that is just too big for them, but still having to fight their way to greatness. I love Sam carrying Frodo through mount Doom. I love to see Aragorn saying "for Frodo" and Merry and Pippin being the first ones to charge. That is the kind of story that brings tears to my eyes. I've always loved DnD, but this is the one TTRPG that gets me excited to try something new. My group attempted pathfinder, but found it intimidating to try to start. Light bulb moment, what if instead of raise shield it was called intercept or intercept strike? That kind of invokes tanking a strike on behalf of someone. Maybe gets the brain juices to pick up on it's not just raising a shield for me, but for my allies as well. And this just came to me as well, what about intercepting blows using weapons!

There are alredy maneuvers to do thats stuff too like parry and swap , body block , intercept , protection , taunt in DC 20 thats do those things and more and each is unique too

Amazing, man. Congrats! I love that Help Challenge idea. I'm designing from scratch a Star Trek one-shot for an enormous 16-player group at my family Christmas (the first time ANY of them will play a TTRPG), and I've been trying to brainstorm different types of non-combat challenges - particularly small group challenges - I can throw at them, and that style of encounter was something I was trying to grapple with. Conceptually I was getting to where you are in this description, but you smoothed out all the rough edges I still had in my thinking. Again, congrats on living your RPG dream. Cheers!
