Most balanced and most forward striving FIFA game ever. I litteraly can't find a bad thing to say about this game. The gameplay was fluid, players made ACTUAL RUNS and the old rosters of players and soundtrack make me cry of nostalgia

The only thing I’d say is the double o to make the shot grounded was overpowered. You’d have a 90% of scoring in a one-on-one with the keeper with any player whatsoever if you do it.

What I liked about 17 and 18 as well as they felt more like a real football simulation, rather than the mess they give us now. The gameplay was more physical, defenders actually had awareness, and scoring was difficult so you actually felt like you accomplished something when you scored a goal.

i just loaded it up and in my first game two players collided, one fell and as he was going down kicked the ball out of play. I honestly couldn’t believe it, in 22 that would’ve been a transition goal to the AI😂 i think 22 is absolutely playable but it’s one of the most boring and repetitive FIFA’s in years, and that’s saying something. There’s no identity. Another thing i noticed was the heading animations, 100x better and goal keepers were actually intelligent (plus the feature where you could play as the keeper was still there)

Fifa 17 is by far the best Fifa in terms of Gameplay and pretty much everything in general it is the closest thing to reality and it is so well balanced that I still play it way more than those defensless and horrible overall game of todays those last years fifa's. This Game is so good that i can't find nothing bad to say about it even after 6 long years of playing it and i still genuinely enjoy it like day 1 or even more as time passes by and realise every year how good of a game it is when those new Fifa's are released.

I played it the whole year, then when 18 came out i bought that and couldn’t believe the difference. i never bought a FIFA since lol. Ive played 17 until this year when i got 22 for free on the PS store, it’s ok but i still go back and play my 17 saves constantly cause it actually feels like football😅

Fifa 17 and 18 was really good regarding gameplay. EA just intentionally downgraded fifa 22 on ps4 because of next gen consoles. It's obvious.

I barely played anything other than online seasons (I hate fut cause too much grind, and I don't like playing vs AI at all so seasons was always the mode for me) and I can confidently say that this and FIFA 18 were the last 2 FIFAs I enjoyed a lot. Gameplay-wise they struck a nice balance, I also played a lot of 19 but the gameplay didn't click with me, maybe cause it became too sim and I really like skill moves and flashy goals. 19 and onwards I haven't enjoyed them as much and didn't even buy most of them. I just feel like the super realistic approach doesn't suit this game. Halfs are 6 minutes each so it's supposed to be fast paced. Also what they should have been doing is give players more individuiality. Messi is my biggest issue. Dude has had like 12 god tier seasons. His signature thing is that he runs super fast but the ball sticks to his feet the whole time. Great acceleration but very tight control. In FIFA if you hit R2 with Messi he throws the ball like 4m forward. Ranting a bit but I think improving those aspects of the game would be better than just making it more "simulation" based
