I love the way Anna talks about her mom. It's like, you can hear the pride, with a little envy and lot of admiration.

A bit of "stress" on Anna. Hard 2 believe She made a crucial error(wrong name).

I imagine being the child of two GM's puts a lot of pressure to live up to that family legacy.
@vlastimil-furst
@vlastimil-furst Жыл бұрын
@@kaizoisevil Hopefully her parents exert none of that pressure, and that Anna handles the pressure that comes from anywhere else well. I like her a lot as a chess ambassador and content creator. Will she ever reach GM title? I don't know. But I know there are many GMs I've never heard of, and I also know I enjoy watching Anna's videos.

I enjoy your recaps a lot. Nice that your preparation went so well, and congratulations to your mom! At first I didn't see why her opponent gave up (I'm not a strong chess player) but after looking at it a bit more it became obvious. Well played both of you! Greetings from Norway!

I love how you explore different lines and show multiple moves and explain your thought process at various stages. Most recap vids don't get as into those, but they really help me develop my own understanding of the higher-level tactics. It's a lot more relatable to hear it fresh from the player than to watch an analysis. Thanks for taking the time to do these after such long game days :)

Exactly, when you show your thought process you are also helping lower players understanding and how to analyse through a game where you need to think some moves ahead

I enjoy your recaps. They are very entertaining and instructive. I am trying to get better at chess and today I learned not to open B6, G6 if you are a 1600+ player playing a 1900+ one. I saw that you attacked the center with pawns, backed by knights, and were able to maintain your opponent in a defensive position, even though she was playing whites. I was glad to be able to follow your moves and predict some of them. Good luck tomorrow!

Hi Anna, love your upbeat videos. I only recently started to learn the basics of chess a few weeks ago on holidays and discovered how strangely addictive it is 😂 However, the amount of information out there about openings, endgames, etc… is overwhelming for someone just starting out. As a complete beginner, are there any openings and variations I should just focus on? Any advice is grateful. Best of luck with the rest of the Olympiad

NEW subscriber because you are the most energetic commentator. 1 hour bus ride - that's crazy. I know the guilty feeling when a whole slew of prepared move gets springed on an opponent. I remember I was playing a WGM once and I quickly brought out her games on ChessBase db on my iPad. She got into a bad position against a GM in a French advance and I played the same exact moves. Got a +2 advantage once in the game but still lost because the noob in me didn't know how to win.

very instructive game on how to destroy the hippo, the only thing to keep in mind is that after the d4 advance white can play Bxc6 and then close the center, getting rid of the bad bishop. after that castling queenside is not really attractive because of the broken pawns and its anyones game
