Really enjoying this playthrough and just wanted to say thank you for attempting to f2p just to see how far you can go. So far my only - and I mean - only advantage you have is from being through this and playing for so long, you KNOW to wait for taskmaster because you understand the synergies and have certain decks in mind so you are able to pinpoint those key cards needed. Back when I was running my first time, I...and surely many others literally have no idea what cards are needed to complete decks that can face season pass/meta gamebreaker decks and come out on top. I think for most new players they have a mindset of 'get those new releases' with spotlights and tokens earned for example Alioth, but no one would be considering taskmaster simply wait until he rotates in - but with roughly half pool 3 still in the mix, there's a good chance he won't even be rotated and as the month comes to a close and they have a timer and its getting under the hour mark, the only option is to nab Dazzler. What i mean to say is - those spotlights like jeff, slik, etc most new players might be thinking ' cool card, wonder what it does' rather than ' I have a year of being in the thick of this game and know what cards to specifically look out for." Literally shoudl have this playthrough pinned and featured on the offical. You're doing Thanos's work my man, but I hear that defeat in your voice and it brings back terrible memories and using money that i really didn't have in order to feel 'I was keeping up.' The less people resort to this action, the happier they would be.

It's exactly 2 per spotlight cache because of the way they lock rewards into groups. Without doing the exact breakdown I believe I was able to get just under 2 spotlights per week or about 3-4 s3 per week

@@TLSGMarvelSnap I have 4,500 Cl and there are a few cards left to complete S3, during this journey there have been times where I picked up 1 S3 card between 240 CL. I asked why I would like to know if I am just unlucky or everyone is having this problem.

As a F2P player, the only real challenge is at the start when you have very few cards. The game gets monotonous cause your best decks don't change often. But once you get over that hurdle the next difficulty is when meta breaking cards are released and you just suffer for 2 weeks.

Im f2p and started playing last year, every season for a long time now i hit infinit, i've already got like top at 6.000 top players, my cl is around 7500 now, i dont get every card that comes out, Just hold the keys and use It when its worth It. I've already beaten players from top 100 and even influencers. So yes you can be f2p and play without crying you dont need to buy anything to be a good competitive player

Great videos. Crazy how it's changed since I did this. Got up to like 8k before the spolight were introduced into the game. Seeing early game is wild with that change and no gold and minimal tokens given out.

It's good to have someone out there documenting this kind of customer. I think SD considers F2P, Season passers, and Whales in their game and tries to find a good balance. Can't be perfect, but videos like this help highlight how to improve the quality of new player experiences.

Nice f2p series, keep at it! I did the same with the tokens when I was a new player spent maybe 4k tokens and that's when I got my Sera too. I remember it was midnight and I got so hyped that I played Sera decks until 4am. And that's when I started getting to infinite and got conquest wins like it was nothing! Plus I did the same with the gold. Some content creators say to save the gold but in the beginning it makes no sense and the grind is way harder without spending it on missions. I'm only saving it now that I'm 3750 CL and have a lot of good decks to play. Bundles, here I come!

I wish this series was broken out to longer individual videos. One of my favorite series to watch in Hearthstone's hayday was TrumpSC's F2P series every new card expansion. He would climb to Legend without spending a dime. Really compelling content imo (esp since I was broke back then). Just know If you expand this series, I'm tapped in. Appreciate your content!

This is actually a really fun exercise to go though if you have the spare time. I have a dolphin account (where I buy the SP every month along with some other bundles) and then a completely F2P account which is S3 complete and only missing about 8 cards from S4/5. I plan on starting another F2P account next year some time just to see what it feels like as a new player with all the changes SD keeps making

Hi, I started snap on 24th August after watching one of the streamers play the game on twitch for PC launch sponsored stream. I am F2P first ever playthrough & I did watch few videos early to be efficient with the currency. Really loved ur first 30 days & watching this rn, one approach different I took from you was saving gold for good progression value bundles instead of daily missions. I am CL 1188 and rank 5500 as this is my 42nd day with 3580 gold 3100 tokens and 400 credits saved up for now. I think other f2p players who follow your stead should know that daily missions are not very efficient. I am saving my gold for the dracula bundle 6000gold(nov19) or the christmas bundle with sentry 7500(dec24). Maybe leave a tip to keep an eye on future bundles with good token/credit value for gold? I hope my input helps, great content!

Am going for Dec one myself since for 2000 credits less you get way more tokens which are harder to get.

@@ritchi465 I use tokens only for s4 cards on the shop whereas more credits allow opening more spotlights, which can give better returns with s5 cards. Its all about how many of the s4/5 cards you have already. I will compare both the bundles thoroughly once time comes close and I have an exact number on the gold I have, so I can estimate what other bundles I will be able to get along side them or soon after(after the newer datamined bundles are released)

@@xcelr8live I also use mine for s4 and I still maintain for a new player it feels better to go for tokens for now. For instance I spent my first 3k tokens on Mobius, no regrets. I currently have 1.8k and want Modok and Nimrod for new decks. Considering you get about 200 tokens for a set of 9 crates, it's going to take a long time just to get 2 s4 cards itself (a bit less than 135 boxes for 1 s4 if my math is correct). As for spotlights since we have to be very careful on opening them, we are going to accrue them anyway. It think it's about 3 or 4 per month.

New player here and I like these videos. My enjoyment feels dampen after series 2 but am hanging in there for now. I wish the game added catch up events for new players, like re-releasing the free Kitty Pryde I hear people got in the past and other old goodies on a rotating basis and no I do not agree with gatekeeping/you had to be there/exclusivity mentality, especially if it was given to everyone. @@rvns5173 You do realise that she was given for free in her pre-nerfed state right? Now that she's nerfed it's mostly used in some Elsa decks, which not everyone has and F2P will have to wait for it. Strong with Elsa otherwise it's like using Collector outside Loki deck. Considering all this I do not see a problem in re-deploying old giveaways like that, not that it will actually happen, it's just a vain wish.

I'm on day 35 (CL 950). I bought the Loki pass, nothing else. Somehow I got my Infinity Border on my 3rd try with an incomplete Loki+Surfer deck, just 40 minutes before the Loki season ended. I'm still in disbelief! - You could say I'm doing fantastic, but I'm dreading the 1k CL step. I wasn't lucky with my S3 pulls and the S3 progression just slows down so-so much! It's really a drastic shift. I wasn't lucky with S4/S5 either. Opened 3 caches for High Ev, didn't get him. And I bought Snowguard from the token shop 3 days before the nerf. Not the end of the world, but not helping. I'm strongly thinking about not really playing the game in the next 2-3 months. I love the researching, the planning, the closely following the meta part, but I can't really participate with my collection. I'm strongly thinking about being just a "daily mission bot" in the next 2-3 months. I fall in love with this game so incredibly fast, it's quite sad that I'm not sure how to continue after one month. Anyway, sorry for the long comment. The video is top tier fantastic again! I will watch it again, it definitely helps me think through how to move forward.

12:35 if he plays Knull and Death there's no really a correct play since Legion into Park to squirrels gettin Killmonger'ed happen and he can always cover 2 lanes fliping one he loses . Even if he plays buster mid it's lost. It was risky as hell but i'm glad it paid off thou :)

Seeing the crazy point gains and losses here is wild to me. As someone who ranked in the top 500 last season and never saw point gains or loss or more than 40 points max knowing there are swings like that happening at lower ranges seems nonsensical.

I am surprised at the cards you unlocked so early. I am collection level 2,000 and have not unlocked Wong, Magik, She Hulk, Death, King Pin, captain Marvel, Spider Man, Luke Cage, Leader, Ultron, Aero. For new players, it's now better progression-wise to hoard gold for bundles and mission resets are actually very bad for progression. This wasn't the case back in beta, but now gold bundles will usually give way more credits, variants and boosters than mission refreshes.

Great series 🎉 It’s worth pointing out to new players that you were quite lucky with the cost ratio for boosters/conquest medals for both seasons. The random booster are now at a ratio of 0.09 and 0.16, whereas you were buying closer to 0.2/0.3… This would slow progress a touch.

Good video. I'd be interested to know the average # of hours a day to achieve the progress you did. Definitely proof that even lower collection decks can succeed and make infinite, despite many people complaining otherwise on Reddit. The problem must be the decks and not them lol. To be fair you're an exceptionally experienced player, so a it's not realistic for a brand new player to the game to share the same results. I'd also be curious to know how much farther you think you would've got if you had the season passes, as a lot of people buy that but nothing else. I'm in that category. Started at global launch. What was that almost a year and a half ago now? I'm at 7500 CL.

Isnt this just like finishing a video game & going back to the beginning with the knowledge you now have & playing more effectively than you did your first run thru it?? Theres nothing special about doing what you SHOULDVE done the 1st go around; ppl do it all the time. Only you blow your money when the game 1st comes out. People have been making videos optimizing how to complete your collection since the 1st month. The only time P2P really starts to hurt is when you inevitably get Series 3 complete. Ive been watching that stupid free series 3 card thing for months hoping theyll drop a Series 4 card in there one day, now that im S3 complete lol

Ladder doesn't make sense. He beats #27 and gets only +50, then beats a 500 and gets +114 for both being 2 cubers. Then he loses more for losing to a top 50 player than he does for losing to a top 2000 player... shit makes no sense.

ive been playing without paying since month 3 and ive collected. its not easy tbh but im proud that i stayed not paying. It feels so much more rewarding than those who pay. i got thanos, galactus, aroshim w.e its called , got full hella, silver sufer, move, ravonna etc. . Starting its best to focus on missions. Getting more cards is the main goal. If you ever come across a player with the name "UnlikeU I Didnt Pay$" its me.
