Hey Its not that difficult It's called manual defending for a reason, you have to control your defenders yourself using match up and shoulder charge, know when to team press and when not to (practice repeatedly) train your defenders to have good defensive stats too that'll help and remember to clear crosses and loose passes rather than trying to pass it out the back. Also understand what style your opponent is playing so you can adjust your tactics if you need to.

It only works for Advanced (touch and flicks) But I'll try to explain the steps for classic. *Player Matchup* , makes your defender position well against your opposing player, is very effective for blocking pass and also for closing your opposing players space for movement. Another method is *Shoulder Charge* which you can do when your player is right beside (not behind though that would be a foul or you might miss time it aswell) you to push your opponent and when he's almost falling you could steal the ball. And as for your complaint that the player runs past opponent instead of tackling here is a tip. Instead of trying to tackle with player in your control. You should double press your opposition while pulling your defender (player in control) back towards the defensive line or towards the opposition player's running path. Player will surely tackle if you double press. Watch 'Alexnd' youtuber's recent video called how to defend like a pro. He does the same thing I was trying to explain in my last paragraph.

Same here, defense suck. Advance control plus manual switching is difficult too. what i learn EFootball 22. Don't double press. Because when you press double. cb will go everywhere. If the opponent attacks, don't let them chase the ball forward, let them come. because sometimes it's easy to miss the ball when our cb comes fast, and the opponent pass move, through ball.
