100% one of the downfalls of Islands was the decision to change it to individual servers. It used to be much more social and just, joyous. There is beauty in simplicity as they say

Their downfall was half assing every update and feature in the game. They didn't do anything useful with the electrical items, they couldn't be bothered to add a perfect T splitter, the machines would always get clogged with coal which despawned a ton of stuff and created obnoxious server lag. They never solved the games economic inflation problem despite there being an infinite amount of ways to solve it. They also ruined so many things that were fine the first time like the lightning scepter and event bosses. Also the events themselves got increasingly stale since they couldn't come up with anything new and unique (like idk maybe an alien invasion event, or a Japanese themed event). I could go on for hours detailing everything they fucked up. But in short, the devs became lazy, uncreative, and just flat out didn't understand what made the game amazing early on, what needed to be added, what needed to be fixed, and what shouldn't have been changed.

Oh man I remember those hours spent with my best friends from 3 years ago grinding pink sticky gears to finally get our first Industrial Smelter. I remember the rush of dopamine when we broke through 10m coins. I remember the panic of noticing that we only had 2 days left to get christmas tokens and buy the trophy to sell to a shop owner for 250m. I remember the day that we logged on to see all of our coins gone, all of the totems from my amazing multi-million coin per hour auto starfruit farm lost, and a new levels system that rendered our Guilded-Steel pickaxes completely useless. I remember the pure excitement of the Diamond Boss update (cant remember his name), and I remember the intense frustration of when nobody would spawn it. I remember the excitement of crafting our first Rage Blade which we shared and took it in turns to use against the monsters. I remember the pure wonder of exploring the Wizard Island, and then annoyance when we realised that our Rage Blades were no longer useful there. I didn't know it then, but I made so many happy memories with my best friends (who I am no longer in contact with). I would pay a lot to go back to those times.

Me and my friend played and he was then one that would get hard or rare stuff and I would be the one that make money and craft stuff and when we got the resources to make a smelter he would give me all of his copper to make it automated and we would work together nearly everyday and the funny thing is that we met on a another game that which is scp-3008

Back then 2020 my 9 year old daughter introduced me to islands. I remember we had to work hard for items and upgrades. She accidentally sold her Guilded steel hammer because she thought she was buying one for me. She was crying and telling me that she was hacked lol and robbed. I started grinding for the materials like crazy. Islands got complicated for my daughter so she stopped playing. Here is the idea for the game : when the players play the game for the first time he we’ll get a cutscene that how we are been summoned in this island white voice acting ( it we’ll be pretty cool ) and add hunger and stamina and parry , and each level he progresses when reaching lvl 50 players can choose ability each 25 lvl from 50 to max and upgrade system it we’ll be how mush he get wen using this ability and ect … good luck
