Huh i play on console and 0 pop is usually the go to bc of how mamy zen users are online join a 0 pop build a base or a zerg if you got the numbers and just repop via a group post or the other thing that i dont know the name of for ps4 and ps5

This is what I did after 5k hours of official rust. Felt good playing an additional 1k hours without the fear of rebuilding after work or sleep. Now I just watch videos on it. Finally came to the realization that I have a life with a very low survival rate because of it.

low pop servers feel almost like a different game, where on the high pop servers it get quickly desensitized to everything, on the very low pop servers, you become almost paranoid sometimes, you see things move and your heart skips and when you see a player its like everything just freezes and im talking about vanilla low pops

As a player new to Rust within the last few months and only having logged about 300 hours, I started playing with my son and his friends on high pop servers and it was fun, but I have found I much more enjoy playing on 30 day servers with lower pop. I usually only get to play a few hours at a time and days apart, so not having to start from scratch every time and constant PVP makes it much more fun for a casual player like me. I really enjoy the building aspects of Rust, bases, electrics, piping, farming, etc. with a little PVP on the side if you will. This game can be very discouraging for noobs on high pop.

Turrets are fun on some PVE servers if they have zombies or custom NPCs, but a lot of PVE servers (like the one I admin on) have a Purge the day before wipe, where all PVE protection is turned off and everything is fair game until wipe. Gives everyone something to do with all the ammo and explo they've saved up during wipe. I'm a bastard and like building complicated raid designs all through wipe that get people killed repeatedly on that last day.

The London map is the first PVE map I have played. There was 80 ppl on and it got me hooked to PvE server. Got to try a full wipe on a English pve server man. It's so fun

I had to play on a 0 pop server back when I was splaying Life is Feudal. It was the only way I could keep my "home" building. Because you had to log in every day to keep it and I couldnt do that because of my job.

there's a server called ZTL under modded. They are PVE until Wednesdays and then enter purge mode for 24 hours. It has zombies, monsters, raidme commands, raidbase commands, etc. Also PVP is always allowed on monuments.

the skill tree is awesome, you can use a one hit skill to break anything in one hit, then level up and have everything go to your invent on that hit too.

PvE and Roleplay servers are NOT the same things. A PvE server is Player vs Environment. This usually adds new events, monuments, NPC's, etc. to fill the gap of PvP raiding/ loot gathering. These give you some space to learn vanilla monuments, and play without the worry of being raided or grubbed out in the wild. They may also provide opportunity to practice builds or flying vehicles without the restrictions of build servers. PvE is the basis for most of your famous MMORPG's like WOW and Runescape, though they do have your wilds and PvP areas, but so do a lot of PvE servers. Even Destiny/ Destiny 2 is mostly about Player vs Environment which is in no way roleplay. A Roleplay server, while it may have similar PvE qualities, may also include PvP in limited regards, but also generally includes leveling systems, job/ role systems and people who like to LARP, or pretend to fit in their roles. These servers usually have a bunch of people wound a little too tight. There's usually like... Builders, mayors, sheriffs, farmers, gatherers, etc. If a FP rust official server is brainrot autistic children just screaming and screaming racial slurs, the Roleplay servers are the equivalent except it's 10 yr olds and people in their 30's -40's acting like they're running a town or whatever and they all sound fat and like they struggle to breathe. Roleplay is akin to playing Dungeons and Dragons where you act out your character, their backstory and their role as if you are them. PvE servers are a happy middle ground where you have racists, adults with superiority complexes and the reason facepunch puts so much effort into explorable monuments and puzzles and things like farming exist. PvE servers often have PvP arenas or areas that allow PvP so it's not like it's completely out, you just don't have to replace your base every 8 hours.

A lot of players might think that PvE is roleplay shit but nope. It's just no raiding and no killing between players and then to compensate the boring gameplay a lot of custom missions/events are added and a lot of NPC's to kill. I've played on a servers where you got chased by 30 zombies and bots are accurate like crazy so we do not have to judge these servers and because most of us will fail even if we are pros.

yea imo thoes server's are more enjoyable, let's me not have to deal with bullshit pvp sweat lord's or clan's that build a a full complex in a single night and raid your base day 2 of a wipe, also i have a life and i like to play other game's sometime's to. being forced to play nothing but rust just make's me hate the game. so low pop pve server's are great, also let me build intresting looking bases and not just the same lame ugly design's that everyone else does.
