It’s crazy how effectively he just demonstrated the importance of your mental game in everything you do. He lost that last game at the opponent reveal screen and it’s not just because Steve is broken. Steve is broken, but Poppt definitely could have won that game if he locked in similarly to when he played Spammage’s IC’s.

@@casual_ssb3282 The Steve definitely seemed decent, but I still believe Poppt’s fundies and mental game woulda got him the win if he really tried.
@casual_ssb3282 Жыл бұрын
@@masked6326 I really doubt it but to each their own. Dedede isn’t really a fundies based character. And that Steve was definitely more than decent, doing very consistent 2-3 block NILs. Being able to combo better than 99.8% of Steve players. Plus with Steve being banned in Australia I doubt poppt1 knows the matchup all that well. And I guarantee poppt has only ever played Dedede in world of light or during iron man’s.

I like to think of it as establishing a rhythm and then hitting on different beats. That way you can choose options more than once just on different timings so it makes mixups a lot easier
@sidecharacter7165 Жыл бұрын
Well a lot of the best martial artists were also good a t dancing since the skills translated very well. Timing/Pacing, endurance, strength, and distancing were all important in the ungada-bug ads smash warfare days. There is a theory even that women like to pick men who can dance well because it is a good indication that they can fight well, and men don’t like dancing if they don’t know how because it shows they can’t fight.

16:00 I don't know why but the final Steve part was just too funny. I mean, I understand that he's banned in Australia due to his extreme controversy of winning tons of tourneys but sometimes, it is a bit fun to see the reactions of Steve kinda being the busted mess he is. He's not fun to play against, that I get, but the way he broke Poppt's shield and crafting the big F is something not to laugh about, in a good way. Anyway, we are hoping we can still do better by defeating Steve as much as possible

It's really interesting what you said with the ding boom timing thing because it's really similar to how music works. I'd suggest you read something about music (stuff like odd time signatures, sixteenth notes and tempo changes) because it literally is the same thing. If you start to recognise it in songs you will start to recognise it in smash too. Most music is written in 4/4 time signature which is what we're used to and it's the basic timing in smash, but listen to any song in 3/4 and you will understand
