Absolutely Splendid. This romhack stitches together different parts of the original while adding just enough new story beats to fill in some gaps between events. I like the idea of the main character's personality being completely different. Maybe in future PMD games, your personality could determine the kind of adventure you have, or at the very least, give you different dialogue.

I think Grovyle's story in this rom hack is actually a brilliant conclusion. Fighting for so long for something, your body and soul is almost surely inclined to just keep fighting, its a real thing some people have to deal with, some soldiers in particular. It becomes like an addiction, and Grovyle's story perfectly encompasses that. Celebi spells it out perfectly; Grovyle and co. won. They did it, the future is saved, their existence alone is proof enough, going back to the cutscene at the start of the game. If something was going to happen, they all would've sensed it and done something about it. Overall, really well done rom hack, and after thinking it over, I appreciate the creator not ending it with the OG Darkrai turning good. It leaves things open ended in a way that makes sense - in some version of events, Darkrai may turn evil again, but it doesn't have to be that way. I think that Darkrai turning into the player after being attacked represents in their moment someone strong he wished to cling to in order to avoid his demise, and who better than the one that literally defeated you. Heck, you could headcanon that if the original timeline player recruits Darkrai, your presence is enough to cause Darkrai to fully give in to the good now lurking inside of him, purifying his mind and his memories alongside it.

Sunny's main character trait for another ROM Hack that I'm working on: The Story of Team Kirby A little talkative, but a sweetheart nonetheless. Mainly for... comfort purposes, the story may have been the same, but, damn, it's worth it.

Not in this one sadly. Cuts the main postgame since you can't continue past temporal tower. Just reset back before that. So everyone's permanently in the "we gotta save the world" state
