Some fun background on the CEO's nickname: Oozora Subaru misread his name on stream, as his real name is Motoaki Tanigoo (usually written just as Tanigo). The character 谷 can be read as tani or ya, and she got it wrong. The misread name stuck. He also was a bit of a public face of the company for a while, going as far as being the merch model until recently (he's simply to busy these days). He also has appeared on streams and in videos interacting with the members.

Holocure is kinda unique in its approach to the Survivor-style games. Normally, the chosen character has a specific starting weapon and stats, and that's it. But in Holocure, each character has their exclusive weapon, special, and three unique skills. These highlight an intended playstyle for each character, and if you get accessories that synergize well, your builds quickly go absolutely ridiculous. You also haven't even seen all the mechanics yet, so believe me, the game goes really deep. And it's still WIP, with plenty of new characters people are hoping to see soon.

The crazy thign is that this is designed by one person, the artist/animator for the game River City Girls and key animator for several anime like Naruto, Bleach, Sword Art Online, and Castlevania. When the game expanded from just being a simple fan homage game, they eventually spearheaded a project with help from friends as a passion project to celebrate the Hololive fandom. Even if they were to be officially approached by Hololive themselves to keep producing it, they already mentioned that they wouldn't want the game to be monetized. A new update will be coming up in a few months, with more characters/stages/and an expansion to the Holohouse space to do more stuff in the open world.

On Collabs: You get a collab when you have two compatible weapons at max level (level 7), then a golden anvil may drop that allows you to combine them. This also frees up a weapon slot so you can pick up a new one. I think there is a new thing you can do to combine a collab weapon with an accessory, but I don't know exactly how that works. On Skills: Each character has three skills that are unique to them, each with three levels. They all really help differentiate the playstyle of each idol.

The new thing with the accessory is called a super collab. You need to have a compatible collab and a max level accessory (whether that is lvl 1 or 3 or 5 depends on the accessory itself), when you have both and are over some threshold (can't remember if it's a certain time spent or if it's a certain level reached) a golden hammer will drop in the level, and then when the golden anvil drops you can use the golden hammer to turn the collab and accessory into a super collab, freeing up an accessory slot. They are really strong (and one of them is straight up OP) but you can only have one super collab in each run and there are only four super collabs in the game currently.

Kay yu, the main and usually only developer of Holocure, said he would always and forever keep this game free and is planning to have every talent in the agency as a character. Thats nearly triple digit playable characters.

Suisei's my top girl in vtubing _and_ HoloCure. She's a hell of a melee brawler: when her axe is fully upgraded, she deals triple crit damage and every axe hit is guaranteed to crit. On top of that, one of her skills drops Tetris blocks on their heads and squishes them whenever she crits. Another one applies every axe hit that lands on an enemy to all enemies within a radius. It just turns into a bloody shitstorm in a small circle around her. Things get rough on the higher stages when things start launching walls of bullets at you, though.

To answer some of your questions: -Most of the enemies you fight in the game are representations of the different vtubers' fans. In the vtuber scene, it's common to give a unique(ish) nickname and mascot to one's fans. These are often puns, references to the vtuber's lore or both. For example, the orange snake-looking enemies at the start of the first stage are actually shrimps and represents the fans of Gawr Gura, a shargk girl, the skeletons are representations of Mori Calliope's fans, the Deadbeats, their appearance comes from her lore as a grim reaper and the name is a pun and reference to her lore as well as her interest/skills as a rapper. The purple octopuses on the other hand are Takodachis, fans of Ninomae Ina'Nis, whose lore is that she is a priestess of "the Ancient One" and the nickname of the fans, "takodachis", is a bit of a weird japanese pun that loosely translates as "octopus friend". -Amelia Watson does have a gun in lore, not sure if she has one in real life (although wouldn't be too surprised if she did). She is a bit of a gremlin but also incredibly clever and skilled in variety of things, and is well known for her skills in FPS-games. Additionally, originally Ame's lore was that she was just a detective, but over time her lore has evolved into her being a time-travelling detective with numerous different versions of herself in different timelines. -Every single weapon and item in the game you can get during a level is a reference of some sort, some to vtubing in general, some to Hololive specifically, some to specific Hololive vtubers. Holocure as a nice wiki and you can find all the references their on each item's own page. A word of warning though, some of the references are going to be ever so slightly unhinged. -The man whose face you keep seeing is the CEO if Cover corp. which owns Hololive. He is a chill guy well liked by everyone from his employees to fans. There is a bit of a running joke to keep using him in different kinds of hololive-related content and to make jokes of him. The jokes are in good spirit, and he himself has said he doesn't mind them at all. -The game does have a lot of characters. But it is only around half of the hololive talents so far, and the dev has stated he wants to eventually have all of them in the game.

All the enemies are the fan mascot characters for the vtubers. For example, the skeletons are Mori's (the girl with the scythe) fans, the shrimp are gura's fans, and all the other basic enemies are the fans of Myth and council, which are the first two generations of english hololive vtubers. The guys you can hire at the farm are actually real fans. There was a period of time before the update that added the feature where you could submit your name and which character(s) you wanted to be able to show up as. For example, there's a chance you could find an onigiriya (the riceball headed guys on the right side of the screen at 16:35) named Gak237, that's me!

You lack the most important knowledge of all when playing Ame (Amelia Watson): When you've got bubba, try holding "p" in for a while. Other than that, yeah, it's an utterly insane game. All characters have a unique weapon and 3x skills. Tons of unlockables, and even some super collabs exist. Also, every single mob is a character's fan mascot (investi-gators are Ame's fans, skelebros are Calliope Mori's fans, etc). Also, if you think there's a reference, there's probably 3. For instance, psycho axe is a reference to Suisei who found out during a collab (stream with other vtubers) that she wanted to kill them all with an axe instead of cooperating ingame. So she did. She got the nickname suicopath after that. If you search "suicopath rust", there's a brilliant fan animation of her at her most psychopathic.

Bubba is Wattson's dog. On live he is always barking in the background of the live. Then he ended up entering her story. These are small references that happen in lives that become Skills, weapons or items.Everything in the game is a reference to the lives, history and jokes that appear. If you get the HoloID (Indonesia branch), you will realize how broken they all are. For example, Kaela is a sigma male in vtuber form, and her skillset in-game reflects that. Level her skills and you will dominate the stages with pure ease. Hard mode is unlockable in the store, and it costs nothing. You have to refund to disable it, afaik.

I forgot how, but there's a menu that shows what items can Collab, since doing so frees a spot it is a good way to stack a lot of skills.

I think it's just in the pause menu, but it only shows you collabs you've already done. Basically just a reference so you don't have to remember it all.
