This game engine was so good you could pick the same exact plays on both sides of the ball and get a different outcome every time, just like it should be. There is just so much amazing things about this game.

At this point I'd take a 2K football game even without the legends or NFL license. They could give us all the movie characters and teams and I'd buy it. Only playing Madden growing up, and not having tried 2K5 yet I only had seen this game in videos. It was a bit awkward trying to figure out the controls plus a bit slow at times but rewarding when you make a good play. And just nice animations to look at - worth watching people break it down in slow motion or watch a replay yourself. I like how with the draft system you're limited to having to build your team a certain way that contrasts with others. It really forces you to rely on your star players to win unless there is a gem bronze player outperforming

Great video man! Yeah when ea took the rights i think 2k was testing the waters. Smh i feel like they would have put more into it but the hardcores were not making them enough money. Its a shame but 2k football just needs a opportunity to use all licenses to make a nfl game. Smh ea is still locking up the licenses so not sure 2k will ever get a chance to go all in..

After APF 2K8, EA Sports started to sign up the Legends so 2K or even another company couldn't make an attempt at this ever again. Sort of what WWE did after The Legends of Wrestling Series of games. It's a shame the greatest simulation football engine of ALL-TIME, APF 2K8, is just sitting there collecting dust.

@@reupricky5255 I think I read that somewhere but it's definitely true. They licensed the Legends so that 2K and others could never try an APF 2K8 type football game ever again. EA Sports has always been scared of 2K football-wise. They got cocky with Live and 2K overthrew them. They weren't gonna let that happen with football.

When you throw it depends on your quarterback. Quick release quarterbacks throw fast. If you don't set your feet the ball will be off target or wobbly.

@@reupricky5255 they couldn’t help it. Back when madden 11 was new, people was fooled by trailers. Madden always looked polished graphics wise, people didn’t know that the gameplay was subpar. Year after year people thought “Maybe this year will be better.” Nope 👎

@@reupricky5255 hell yeah. It took what NFL 2K5 did and built on it even more. When you get a chance, watch replays on the plays you run offensively and defensively. Watch what everyone is doing on the field. Look at what the receivers are doing when you pass to them, how they look for the ball. Watch the Trenches. Even watch replays on FG kicks, Xp kicks and punts. Especially when the weather isn't the best. I'm telling you football simulation engine-wise, this is the greatest. Btw, when you make a Team, always make sure your generic players have a Cornerback named Brad Banker. Legend as far as generic players in a video game go.

2K didn't make any more football games because this didn't sell well. EA had the exclusive NFL license so they focused more on the NBA 2K series and later the Mafia series.
