I like that the migration system will help you find where you need to be when you spawn. When starting a dino does the map show where your chosen dinos migration zone’s located? Is there a way for carnivores to find these locations or are they still relying on the large scent clouds?

Some things you missed: There is now Teno, Cerato, and Pachy AI, Omni can now bite upwards and perform a drop kick while airborne, and stamina will regenerate slower the less amount you have.

There is so much to say about this, but I have nothing but high hopes. I can definitely see this map and its mechanics tackling a handful of issues faced by the current map, such as the limited water ways for semi aquatics/full, a giant map with no diversity and 90% jungle, not being able to find players, scarce to no ai. This changes everything.

I think thats a good thing though, ads more opportunities for balancing. Certain dinos are already really fast and hit hard, aka carno, carno should have to fully rest like a cheetah does after its done hunting.

Good. Too many people would just run around everywhere blowing off stamina then trot around to get it back. Now stamina is going to be an important resource that you need to think about spending wisely. And to get it back, you gotta make yourself vulnerable.

I like everything so far. Question regarding the carnos charge. Do you have to hold it now instead of tapping it to hit something? And can you charge down multiple smaller prey with it?

1. you can either tap or hold, doesn't make a difference 2. if the target is small enough you pass right through them without stopping, which means you can hit multiple players

I dont think anyone notices that specific diets give specific buffs, so if you wanted the BEST nightvision diet then 3 bar diets would be the way to go. However it would ONLY affect nv and scent range, unlike the one in the video that would give less nv than bar diet but also give a small stamina buff. For more context, all 3 hex diet would be 25% stam regen/less drain, 3 S would be 25% hp regen, and 3 bar would be 25% scent/nv. If you combine any of these then it would be about 15% for each buffs but more buffs, like stamina as well as fracture regen for 2 S and 1 hex.

I'm very iffy about how dark the night is. It looks better with the night vision diet but with how stam is now it feels even more important to have a good stam diet. Migrations look fun though and like it will liven up the game!

Thanks for the video. But there are some things that concern me, so I would be grateful if you could answer them. Firstly, did they get rid of the wallowing animations? Or now there are just two options how you can cover yourself in mud (wallowing and crouching/jumping in mud)? Secondly, what is cooldown for carno's ram now? And thirdly, why is sky all clear during the storm? xdd Also additional question is, did they at least lower the hunger drain for carnis? Can't imagine how to hunt things now with the stamina rework, honestly

1. You can still wallow, the mud effect I showed was just visual! To enhance the game 2. I think the cooldown is about 20 seconds? haven't counted, it's not long 3. I don't know but the weather affects the light system, if it's raining it gets darker. I liked it a lot 4. Carnivores seems okay, haven't seen someone complaining about them on the testing, not about the stamina usage at least.

Short question: Since Herbivores diets spawn in the migration zone, does the same happen for carnivores? Do chickens, goats, dinosaur ai, etc. spawn for carnivores like plants do for herbivores?

carnivores need to travel to the same locations as their prey, which means they have the migration system and the symbol to follow! when in the zone, they can find their food (AI/players/corpses)

worth noting the game does not take place in the age of the dinosaurs. It is a very Jurassic Park like island hence why there are human facilities and present day animals on the island.

evrima is already in UE5, so if youre running with 60fps youre fine! for now, the stress test has a bad performance, being 25fps for me... I Hope they fix it!

@@r.k845 not in every case, from my experience. i am able to run UE4 games perfectly fine, but as soon as they make the switch to UE5, they completely tank my pc. it could be an optimisation issue on behalf of the developer but i think that the upgraded fidelity & load limit can cause some pcs to chug

Maybe it's just me but there aren't any migrations. The sanctuary is always in the same place and the migration zone never seems to change either.

there's 3 sanctuaries actually, it all depends where you spawn! Migrations also change, but the food inside the zone needs to be gone first

@@kratosdertoten4035 Cera remains the same as far as i know, he still needs to charge the bite to deal good damage. But the carno actually received a buff, not a nerf, it now can stand its ground and give powerful charges very close to the prey, no need to run miles to do so

@@KougaArt yeah, they removed the acceleration nerf, but then nerfed the charge ability with a cool down. They also shadow nerfed Carno last patch. You now have to be at least 150kg heavier than your target to knock it over, before it was if you were even 1kg heavier.

That makes 9 Carno nerfs and 1 'buff' (undone nerf) since I started playing the isle at 6.5, unfortunate because Carno is my favorite dinosaur. At the moment, Carno holds onto its place not with skill, but with stat bullying. The Carno is faster, does more damage, and has more hp than what it fights. As soon as competition comes for Carno it will fall off hard.

I wonder if the level design is good this time. The map we had in Evrima is pretty awful, but I wonder how much Gateway improves by removing blind spot, not too many cliffs to fall off, or unnecessary long routes just to get off from a cliff. Good video however!

it's fairly good, of course there's cliffs and mountains to climb and potentially fall off to a certain death- but I loved everything in this map, feels natural.
