That was TOO COOL! I had an opportunity to do the same thing about a year ago. A good friend of mine had a whole estate collection given to him and he called me to come pick what I wanted....so I did. I ended up with about 400 pieces of cars, locos, books, etc... to go along with my collection. Tell Dave I do Rock Island too but it is in HO....

Enjoyed your video. I would have too, but I think I would just have tasted with my tongue. I can relate a bit. I recently viewed a widow's husbands' collection of a former (low budget) museum/attraction in the town I live in. Predominately S with American Flyer but had a little of all scales. I thought to help her to connect with an option to sell or find new homes but find little local interest and it's all just too overwhelming for me to think about. I would love to check out every piece that is in that collection, but it would just turn into me caring and worrying about the future of every piece.

I don't think I've ever seen that much HO rolling stock in one place before. What a nice haul. I've been working on scratch building a barn in O scale. It's almost finished, still have to install my beer can corrugated steel roof & weather the roof. Barn was weathered as I built it by using an emery board and sanding the faces of each board before installing. Cheers from eastern TN

That steam engine you found two hours in, looks like it's either a Tri Ang, or a Hornby, Caledonia single. A British passenger locomotive from the late 1800's. Did you find the tender to go with it? I ask because I think it was a tender drive, similar to the Tyco Chattanooga, but a good deal better quality. Good luck with the cleaning and sales, as it looks like a great haul. BTW as a kid I used to throw the whole wax bottle in my mouth, and chew like gum, and the juice made the wax taste better. Also you'd get all the juice out ,and not waste any flavoring.

Hi, that blue loco is a Triang/Hornby Caledonian Single, I have one c/w tender. It has magnahedion (a magnet) which can be removed. Otherwise it would hesitate going through points and rocks a bit because it is not balanced front to back. Clean it up and if you had the trailer you might get up to $100 if it was in very good condition

OMG! What a collection of railcars! And you bought ‘em all! So now yer gonna be a traveling HO model train hobby shop! What a deal. What a concept. You could set up a schedule and travel the northern Great Plains buying, selling and repairing HO trains during the pleasant months. No need to have a fixed “brick and mortar” location if you enjoy traveling. And I don’t know about model train swap shows in your area, but if you had the notion you could schedule stops at them as well. Maybe Missus Ron would like to travel along with you and help out or see the sights. Kinda wish I could help you out with all those railcars but my ‘Road is pretty much established with motive power, rolling stock, non-revenue equipment, and passenger equipment. I just have no need for more equipment than I already have for my (imaginary) region of the country and on-line customers. But best wishes to you and your future endeavors!
