I think the game just defaults to placing new accounts around gold nova. I made an alt account to play with friends and despite having a close to 100% winrate in placement matches and a lopsided 2.0 KD, still got placed GN2. My first placements on my main account many years ago was also in GN1 despite me being basically clueless at the time and dserving low silver.

I went from Silver 1 to Gold 4 in about 2 weeks without deranking once after a year break. I top frag like 70 - 80% of the games and haven't really lost much as the other team has been pretty bad so far. I think I could maybe play in the rank DMG as I used to be a DMG as of last year but my skill has definitely gone down since then. I don't know why all these silvers and stuff are expecting to play in Supreme and all of these high ranks, it's confusing. Just because you do well in silver doesn't mean you'll do well in the top rank in the game, just my opinion Ig.

I learn a lot from these videos. Especially when you not only say what they did wrong, but also say what they could have done better, which you usually do. I'm a total silver, but I'm definitely learning. I was gold 3 while playing in a team. But I clearly only understood what to do in that role. Playing with randos is v difficult for me. It's just like League of Legends in my opinion. Usually it's easy to see people complaining about they don't belongs to current elo and they got tons of kills etc. However, they don't play safe when winning, instead of pushing turrets and getting enemy jungle camps they went to find people and clutch. If you win the clutch then it's cool but if you lose, it's basically just throwing the game. It all happened for a reason. Communicate with teammates, don't risk some stupid peek and clutch, play safe and positive thinking will definitely help out in every field.❤

I was Global Elite with over 5k hours, but since I started my new job, I haven't played for almost a year. So I decided to play again. I went to my brother's account (he doesn't play anymore). Started at Gold Nova 1. And even without practice, I could easily rank up to Legendary Eagle Master, playing solo. I can confirm Gold matches are harder to play solo. It's just too frustrating with a lot of trolls/toxic, and disconnected teammates. But a decent player shouldn't have any trouble to get out of it.

my biggest issue playing in silver is that the team, for whatever reason, always does the opposite of what you should do. If I'm playing T side 3v3 or even 3v2 situations we will plant the bomb then for whatever reason the rest of the team goes and tries to hunt down the enemy and they always die. It's now 1v3 and I'm the last guy to hold down the site. it's like, we already made the touchdown we just have to hold it for 40 seconds but then they run across the map. Then on CT side it happens where instead of falling back and holding down the site from the Ts, they run up long to get up close and personal and lose the site right away.

I mean I play CS since the the first beta, so I play CS probably longer than he lives😀 I get that even top players can have a bad game, so usually my approach is to judge it a bad game, bad state of mind. So I focus on the automated habits someone has to determine skill/rank... For me the point I was like (Well that's prime Silver) was at 7:36 1. no moly, nade to banana 2. he turned his back towards banana and put a flash in his hand It's a common issue I see a lot of times and I abuse it quite often. When I rush banana with mac-10 and I scare them of (after an encounter) to the state that they try to retreat I instantly push... Usually you can get the retreating party, because when he/they retreat you already won the first psychological fight and it usually takes a couple of seconds for them to recompose (for lower ranks it takes up to the time for them to reposition into a position they are familiar with). In that time you have the advantage... but usually the people look my way to at least be able to do something, becaue I am not the only one abusing psychology in this game :D Obviously the timing needs to be good on that one, but since the enemy T was at car, he could have done this. Imagine how surprised I would be If I rush out immediately and see someone turned his back to me and flash in hand ;)

In his defence many things you've criticised him for are hardcoded by being locked in the lower ranks. I had a big problem with being stuck in silver for a while too back in the day and I've 100% been kicked by russians for saving because "I was trolling" buy not stupidly rushing in for kills. In general i think lower rank envoirment discourages any kind of tactical thinking and that can be incredibly frustrating and detrimental to one's progression through the ranks. I Also think blaming teammates for losing matches is not a silver mindset (not just because it's present in all ranks pretty much) but in my experience your team with lesser game knowledge will either play some really awkward positions or rush into bullets for no reason all the time, and when you try to give them some ideas of what angles to play or how to split around the map you get screamed at or kicked. Being hardstuck sucks bro. He might have taken the global acc because he wanted to try himself, as he maybe never had a chance to properly measure his skill as you should when you're climbing the ranks. His aim is alright which indicates some progress he's been able to make but things like gamesense and utility usage are just not things you'll be able to do playing silvers becasue you don't get punished for not having those skills at lower ranks as matches are a shitshow and you can very well rely on your aim solely.

Everyone who is hard stuck or believes they are hard stuck needs to play with teammates that is the one thing everyone forgets. I remember watching the csgo streams in 2014-2015 the amount of times the same pros played together or vs each other on faceit cause they were all in that high tier category and people knew how to play with each other. Being able to play with someone consistently will help so much more than most things. Most of the higher tier players play with groups and while someone might have a shit game now and again you can expect a certain level of skill from those teammates every time unlike solo queue randomness. That said silvers do be coping hard ALOT of the time.

To be fair, for thoses who never been there, getting out of Silver 1 solo is litteraly hell on Earth if you haven't a team to play with. It doesn't take that long, but it's so painful. And yes, you do loose maybe half your games because of your teammates. The other day i witness the worst game i've ever seen on Silver 1. Bunch of polish kids, who spammed the n-word, didn't know about aim control, about sneaking, about hearing ennemies, that didn't even tried to plant or defuse the bomb. They played CS:Go like COD, and we only won because of me, and for the fact that some if their teammates were equality dumb.

I do really enjoy this series, I by no means consider myself hard stuck, I just need to practice way more. But the most common thing I see with this series is every "hard-stuck" silver thinks they're better solely based off of kills. Kills mean very little if they dont come with an MVP. If you're getting 40+ kills but less than 2 MVPs then your kills mean absolutely nothing to the rounds
