I put a humbucker in an acoustic guitar // Guitar Experiments

A few years ago,I did something similar on an Acoustic Electric that I have. I put a Strat pickup in it, and it sounded like a Strat. I put a humbucker in it, and it sounded a lot like the solid body electric guitar that I took it out of. The bridge makes some difference, but less than I expected. I suggest Volume and Tone Knobs, for added versatility. If your cheap guitar plays OK, you may have something useful for Alternate tunings, Slide, etc. 😎

Can you also add distortion to it to maybe play a heavier song riff? I have a similar project in mind mostly because my parents (yes I'm underage at the moment) refuse to buy me a electric guitar, I'm planing to do this with a amp borrowed from my friend to add distortion and (maybe?) run it thru my laptop to get effects but I don't know if that going to be possible. If I succseed I hope to start an Acid Bath like sludge metal band that focuses more on slow and atmospheric songs such as The Bones of Baby Dolls and Scream of The Butterfly both by Acid Bath.
