hey jeff... hope things are getting better. this performance by haley reinhart is my favorite "live" one from her solo tours. the audio dynamics of her vocals and the band are stunning. the video of the performance was from haleyTusk (aka HT) and haley's team substituted their audio. ironically, HT originally did this color but switched it to b/w when he was having pink hue issues and somehow i can not think it could have come out any better this way....😎

Thanks Jay. IPASOY was going to be the first video from the 2022 tour I was going to post on my channel, I knew it was the best I'd recorded of the 5 shows I saw, but I wanted to wait until the tour was over, so I sent it, in colour, to Haley. She told me to hold off on posting it, she might want it for Halloween, which meant I had a LOT of time to fixate on making it better. It was about a week before Halloween, I was still trying to 'fix' the garish pinks and blues of the stage lights when I decided Eff it, let's try black and white. All of a sudden a huge amount of detail was revealed, from the back drop to the patterns on Haley's dress. The last thing to do was to adjust the black and white, desaturating it wasn't enough, there was still the neutral 'hue' that replaced the white areas I had to match w/ all 3 video sources. That's why there's a slight blue hue to the black & white, I couldn't get the white to be 'white' and still retain the darkness of the blacks between videos, so I settled on blue. I sent this version to Haley as soon as it was done and she asked me for the file then. It's funny, this was another thing I 'spoke into existence' from way back when, when I first started my channel, ten years ago...'wouldn't it be amazing if Haley used one of my videos?'. That came true in 2018 when Haley's then manager gave me a shot to prove myself and Haley's Troubadour show and my "Light My Fire" video.... I Put a Spell On You was a whole other level I'd never expected, that Haley would put a professionally mixed audio on one of my videos? WOW (TBF this wasn't the first time she put her mix onto a video of mine, she did it the first time on my 2019 NYC video of "Change", she even released a single on iTunes.... Too bad she never released "I Put a Spell On You" on iTunes, it might have really done well)

Thanks Jeff for this match-up. I was hoping for the CCR version (which I love), but the singer you chose instead, is excellent. In situations like this it’s hard to make a direct comparison, since one version is a live performance and the other is edited. In this case the singers have a totally different vocal style, where a comparison with CCR would put them in a similar grungy style.

I've never heard of Cami Clune before but I enjoyed her version very much. She has a good voice and the arrangement is very interesting - very different from the original. However, I prefer Haley's. That bluesy, jazzy feel comes across so apparently easily. There's more drama and emotion in Haley's version created by greater dynamic contrasts and also huge pitch range, going from some very low notes in the early part to stratospheric just before the very end. I never realised Haley could reach that high. I'm wondering if she has extended her range this last few years or so . Is there any other song in which she goes so high? Still, just because you can do it, it doesna mean you have to go up there.
