The Echo is lower max RPM compared to Stihl. Putting 3/8s chain on saws like these verse 325 chain is a major cut differnence. Safety chain drags a saw down alot . A pro saw will have better oilers for sure. Like I have said before a Stihl MS 400C with a 24 inch light weight 3.8ths non safety chain will up the tree game alot. I have an entire 10 X 5 foot rack of split red cedar from one tree that died on my property. It has been aging now for about 6 months and every time I walk out onto my back porch, it reminds me of a hamster cage! HA HA But I do like the aromatic smell!

I had a Ms 400c and it was a very good saw . Only spent $845 for it at the time . Unfortunately I had to get rid of it , due to a freakin mortgage payment 😢. I used for falling firewood trees ! I might get another one someday , when I keep saving my side earn money !

The echo is only making half the power it should. Clean filter and a little tunning screw driver is your friend.

I agree. She is running very fat. Even in the cut. Engine should clean up and run smooth in the cut.

Maybe the Echo chain has a slightly more aggressive chain configeration, teeth shape and size, than the Stihl chain. A real test would be to put the exact same chain on each one....brand new chain, and see what they do! Just my opinion.
