Honestly in a real 1v1 tournament, with all players at their prime, I think Olajuwon would win! He was almost unguardable on offense and defensively he might have been the best on ball defender and shot blocker. Plus he got a ton of steals! Dream would Shake his way to victory!

I love Hakeem, but there's no way he wins against Wilt. That was the only unrealistic part of this. Wilt was a freaking monster. The only players that would have a chance are 1) shooters that get hot, 2) Shaq on a great day, or 3) Kareem shooting over him with the sky-hook.

@@rvp1 Wilt is not a God. He played in an era where he was bigger than everyone on the floor, every game, by a lot. Look up the size of the bigs back then. But when he played Russell, he was able to keep Wilt in check. Wilt had no jumper. Didnt have good handle. He posted up right next to the basket bc the lane was much smaller back then, so he didn't have to worry about the 3 secon rule. And once they did widen the lane, he was not nearly as dominant. Also in a 1v1 game he'd have to get to the low block to score. That's where Wilts lack of handle would be exposed. Olajuwon, with his quick hands and elite defense would be an extremely tough matchup. Olajuwon dominated every center in arguably the best era for centers, including Shaq. Not saying Olajuwon wins easy but he was much more well rounded player. Better shooter, better handle, better defensive player. And if you think Wilt was a better defender, it's bc the goaltending rules were different back then. They changed the rules bc of Wilt. Yes he deserves credit for that but once those rules were changed, again he was not as dominant. And lastly, my biggest hang up with Wilt is the fact he only won 1 ring as the best player on the team. He won his last ring as an old man and wasn't even close to the best player. He also played with several HOFers, so it's not like he didn't have help. Wilt was beatable for sure.

Olajuwon wasn't the biggest center in his era but he dominated them all. And again, Wilt would have to get to the low block before he could impose his will. Olajuwon's incredible footwork and technique would make it very tough for Wilt. If he fumbled his dribble at all, Olajuwon had incredibly quick hands and could poke the ball away. And once Wilt got the ball to the low block, Olajuwon was one of the best face up shot blockers ever! And again I'm not saying Olajuwon wins easy. Wilt was an amazing ttalent. But so was Olajuwon. It would be a great 1v1!

Honestly, I think most (not all) of these match ups are how it would go down... And while I also think that MJ is better than Kobe. If anybody were to beat MJ in a 1v1 then Kobe definitely could do it on a good day. And that goes for a lot of these guys. Curry & Durant especially! If their 3 is falling then you can't really do much to stop them... But I think if you ran this simulation 100 times it would be interesting to see who wins the most on average.
