Hey Mark. I have been doing M1 and later 2 (since a year later it came out) over 10 years as freelancer and occasionally on location jobs. Overall 16yrs doing php. 2.5 yrs ago joined an org as a SA, later promoted as resource development manager. Something happened to that org and started the internal politics. I did not want to continue and decided not to renew the contract. By then it had been a good gap of not doing active coding. Came back to Magento coding and realized my coding skills are kinda gone. I struggle to be productive. I still feel I love to code though. Kinda frustrated and I left touching computer for about a year now. But looking at your this vid I feel I can still survive my frustration. Any suggestions ?

Your path sounds eerily similar to what I went through. When I came back to Magento, my coding skills were really out of touch. That’s when I really decided to learn how to code in Magento. I felt really disconnected, but since I had a long history of programming, I didn’t want to give up just yet. I strongly urge you to reconnect with your passion, as your coding skills will return and probably come back even stronger than before due to your experience as an architect. It’s so easy to give up, but I think there’s definitely some stuff left on the table that could be considered unfinished business if left unresolved. Best of luck!
