Woolen has made a lot business decisions on the field. He had a knee injury before the year and then a shoulder issue throughout the season. But when he's out there -- dude clearly doesn't want to tackle. It's poor effort at times too.

Brandon Stephen's is interesting. Switched Positions in college, got drafted and played Saftey in his rookie season. Went into Training Camp this season expected to play Saftey, but Marlo got hurt, so they moved him back to outside corner, and he's been great this year as our #1/2 guy

I think Joey being up on the stats chart knowing hes had all these names like Chase, Kupp, Hopkins, Cooper, etc. All in press man, more snaps with 0 help overtop than with help. If he takes a small step forward, hes in the elite category. For what its worth, the verbal praise for Joey seemed to be higher than where he landed on the rank chart, i just feel like the praise, stats, and names solidify him as at least a number 1.

People are holding diggs season where he had like 12-13 Interceptions but gave up a lot of yards over him. 2022 he was lockdown. And 2023 he was lockdown until he tore his ACL. Diggs is easily a top 5 CB in the NFL

The reason Jaylon Johnson’s performance jumps up mid 2023 is because the Bears finally have a pass rush. The 2022 Bears defense was worst in the league. The pass rush in 2022 was nonexistent. 2023 did not start out much better than that. However, since the Montez Sweat pickup the pass rush is somewhere around 10th in the league and with it the defense is probably top 5. The level of play from the corners had jumped significantly. Not just Jaylon Johnson but also Tyrique Stevenson and Kyler Gordon. Tyrell Smith still leaves a lot to be desired but for a 5th round rookie isn’t too bad.

This is why I don’t understand, yes these grades matter but there needs to be context towards these grades. You calling Sauce the only elite shut down player is a horrible take. I wouldn’t even call Sauce a true shut down corner, Sauce doesn’t shadow as much as PS2, Ward, and Ramsey for example, matter of a fact he doesn’t even like up against 1’s, he just defends his side and that’s it. Jets system doesn’t let Sauce travel, because they don’t need to. That may not be his fault, but you can’t just call Sauce the only elite shut down cb because of his grade lmao, that’s a bad take. He doesn’t carry the same responsibility as Surtain as he actually is asked to travel with elite WR1’s and a high rate, hence why his grades and stats aren’t always as good. Please add context and don’t just go off PFF grades because that’s a lazy way to analyze these corners

That's a fair point about traveling and I have no issue if you want to put PS2 as elite! But as I said in the intro, these are based on the film I've watched AND the production. I find it slightly offensive that you think I'm simply going off of PFF grades. I agree their tape is comparable, but at some point when a CBs stats are in their own stratosphere over TWO seasons.. From the second he entered the league... And his tape is as good as anyone's... He's in a tier of his own.

I know you had a nice stat last season, or at least how you evaluated corners in terms of squeeze % or something like that, the amount of space there was in between the corner and the receiver, correct me if I’m wrong. And yes I know you put in a lot of hours watching film, and they are great videos, but don’t you think you should give Surtain the benefit of the doubt when comparing his film to sauces? Even then PS2’s grade and stats were on the same playing field last season with Sauce. I just don’t see how it is fair to put sauce as the best corner when, yes his film is good, but when you see the fact that he’s going up against up against KJ hamler in terms of snap % on him out of all, this is from last season btw Jets at broncos, shouldn’t you take in the fact that then in the same game you see Surtain lining up and travelling with garret Wilson for most of the game to be more of a tougher ask? And playing just as good, I would give him the benefit of the doubt. And I don’t think it’s crazy to say PS2’s grades and stats would be better if he just defended his side and lined up against WR2’s and 3’s for most of the season

What an absolutely abysmal take. I can't even believe you got so many likes. First off you're very misinformed. Sauce does have alot of one one Matchups. The Jets call alot of Quarters and cover 1 or will have Sauce on "Man only" assignments while everyone else plays a zone. He's had tones of 1on1 Matchups this year with the best receivers like Adams, Hill, Waddle, Diggs, etc... Sauce carries just as big as responsibility as PS2 because they put him on the opposing teams best Recievers EVERY GAME. Just like PS2. You don't see Micheal Carter or DJ Reed covering Stefon Diggs or Cam Sutton. You see Sauce nearly every time. This shows an amazing lack of awareness and lack of footage being watched by Gardner. Also going off Marcus it could just be because Sauces level of coverage when it comes to Cornerbacks is in a tier of his own. Because it literally is. That doesn't mean that no one else can be elite. But he is the top dawg

Overall pretty good. But outside of that first half against Metcalf, when has Bland looked like anything other than a true number 1? He just gave up 2 catches for 9 yards last week. I can’t find anything else in his raw stats that would knock him down other than the pointless garbage time yards he gave up against Washington.

As a Browns fan I think you gotta switch Emerson and newsome, newsome got absolutely exposed against the rams and the broncos for the entirety of both of those games, and was arguably why they lost both those games. Plus when ward is healthy he plays in the slot and they’re more comfortable with Emerson on the outside. Sure newsome has better athleticism than Emerson but Emerson has played much better than newsome for both this year and last year in my opinion

I thought we were going to have an elite trio for the future after Emerson started to breakout last year, but newsome has been disappointing.
