I loved your Tier Ranking!! I do think you achieved your goal, it was really educational at least for me. I've learn about fields I've never even thought they existed. Very nice!!

and do not worry (at least not for me) I do think that archeology is a very complex field... I could perfectly understand why you would not dig it, I wouldn't... maybe not because of the same reasons but, I wouldn't

I just recently graduated with a degree in socio-cultural anthropology. Now the hard part, figuring out grad school to attend lol. I did find it odd that my school offered the degree as a combination of social and cultural (it makes sense) but if you look elsewhere they are separated as different degrees sometimes. Also, I love the names for the tiers, great content!
@AliviaBrown2 жыл бұрын
Haha, that really is the hard part. It's actually quite common to hear sociocultural anthropology because of how similar they are. Some places also separate it and idk why we cant just pick one lol. And thank you! So glad you enjoyed!

I'm taking a cultural anthropology class right now and love it! I had never heard much about anthropology in general before I took this class but I'm so glad I took it. I find your videos super interesting and helpful in learning about other fields of anthropology. I'd love to hear your thoughts on jane goodall's work once you read it if you want to make a video as you mentioned- I think that would be cool! :)

Aw, that is amazing! I'm so happy to hear that! Cultural anthropology is such an awesome area of study so I'm really glad you're enjoying it. And yay about Jane Goodall's work! I think this was the push I needed to go buy her books. Definitely want to make that happen :)

I was hoping you do more prehistory videos but you have to do what makes you happy. I am obsessed with Prehistory. It is utterly fascinating! Over the past 20 years the earth shattering discoveries of new hominins is mind blowing. With the more accurate dating technology and techniques there is new groundbreaking discoveries almost every other week. They can't even make textbooks because of the constant updating of new discoveries. Last week they made a new discovery In which they found 1.2 million year old hand ax obsidian glass. There was almost 600 of these hand axes found in one site in Ethiopia. Previous to this discovery, they only thought these hand axes existed 700,000 years ago. This pushes it back 500,000 more years. Also prehistory and ancient archeology KZbin channels are some of the most popular anthropology channels. North O2, Stephen Milo, history with Kaylee are just three of the more popular. I still really like your channel and you do make your videos interesting. Keep up the good work

Hi! And yes, I want to do more pre history videos! I think there is definitely a gap in my knowledge about it which is part of the reason I have not made more. I've watched some of those channels as well, hehe. What's ironic is I love our evolutionary history so I feel like if I explored pre history more I actually might like it a lot. Thank you so much for supporting the channel!
@mad5555552 жыл бұрын
@@AliviaBrown Human evolution prehistory is my favorite also. It is just crazy to fathom this puzzle of our evolution. I love the fact that most anthropologist are very tentative to make any definitive statements. There is soo much debate about what they consider human / hominin, I just find that super interesting.

My heart hurts seeing archaeology at the bottom, but at least it is at a cool stratum level.

Haha, I know right! I have so many archaeologist watching so I was nervous. I still love archaeology (like...how cool it is that these items from the past have preserved so long?? amazing) and it definitely sits in the "cool stratum level" as you put it :)

Thanks for sharing your anthropological preferences. No need to feel so nervous, I thought, because it's about personal interests within the field. My own interests are in archaeology, prehistory and cognitive studies. I didn't feel slighted because they're not your interests. your video provides a good way for others to explore their own interests.
