NGL brawl stars is very consistently good compare to other supercell games. I've played COC, CR, hayday and bomb beach all of them throughout my life. Currently I only play brawl stars daily and COC occasionally. The dev team for brawl stars is also the best in supercell IMHO.

2019 was so peak, I remember playing so much during that time because I had joined right at the global launch. for some reason I decided to quit at december 2019 right after Bea and Max were added, which was such a mistake. I never played for the entire 2020, I played time to time in 2021, 2022 and 2023 but without actually getting back in the game. just in january 2024 I came back and I realized how much I unfortunately missed! luckily I still have my 2018 account

imo ranked is very fun, the main issue with 2024 is that many new brawlers have been very OP and in showdown at a higher elo wintrading is just incredibly big, but other than that it was great

Not to mention the awesome events such as 100 Starr drops, Mutations, Classic brawl etc... This year simply has been more consistent and more fun. I have experienced 2019 and I can confidently say that it was extremely fun but just imagine going back to 2019 and playing the game without Brawl Pass, Knockout, Hot Zone, Brawl Ball as a rotating game mode and 3/4 of the brawlers, star powers and gadgets missing.

In February everyone I know started playing it again, it became popular on social media like KZbin, tik tok, etc. The amount of active players rn is insane. You're blinded by nostalgia if u think boxes were better than starr drops. And as the other dude said the game overall is more fun, has more different things to do and the dev team listens to their community which is actually very important in terms of keeping the game alive.

Too many collabs tbh, this game aint no fortnite, they cant make a balanced brawler on release. They lock new brawlers behind paywalls, they could just make challenges that you can do in 1 week minimum so nobody gets it early, p2w passes that for 14 dollars give u only 100 gems. The ranked skins have now become purchasable so even if you don't get it, you can still buy it always (Mothra Eve excluded but it's cuz of the Godzilla event) The free pass actually gives more things than the old (someone did the math alr so you don't have to fight me on that) Game has never been less p2w as brawl boxes were random yet the main way of progression. You could get absolutely no power points for ur main but like 15 for Frank, which what are you gonna do with? Nobody was playing frank at this point. I get that the old is gold philosophy can put people in a bias but don't act like the game is ruined because of it. It's never been better and healthier, and it's only going to get better,at least that's what the hope is.

The rest is good. What's wrong about collabs though? These are fine actually, the developers can do as many as they want. The new free pass is better than the older one, being both the old pass and the old brawl pass in one, and for free. Also the challenges aren't that bad at all. The early access to broken brawlers are pretty bad though.
