One important note on this video. I’m raking the strength of the free cash flows of these companies, but I’m not raking them by valuation. What you pay for cash flows is very important. So none of this is a buy/sell recommendation. Free trial for Qualtrim Insights: www.patreon.com/josephcarlson

Well done! I'd suggest that you add a tab to the FCF charts that shows FCF - SBC. If the company weren't paying employees in stock, it would be paying them in cash. So it makes sense to subtract SBC from FCF. Another suggestion. How about adding the option of including an Exponential Moving average with your graphs. EMA is far better than SMA since you don't want a large effect from things dropping off the back end. Alternatively, (or perhaps even better) include an EMA of the year-over-year change. o NFLX hasn't done that well since 2020. I'd give it a C. o I understand your concern about NVDA, but its FCF is as good as ULTA. Of course, once you consider SBC, its rating would get worst. o I'd give META a C based on its record.

Performance is bad in a tech portfolio where tech companies have performed poorly for the past year. Not much I can do about that. My other portfolio, which is much larger than this one is doing quite well and actually outperforming SPY over the past 2 years. Part of my advice since the beginning is to not make judgements on performance based on a 1 year basis. Which is exactly what you're doing right now.

You should do this after every quarter. See who's climbing and falling off the ranks. In the end do a rank comparison YOY or QOQ. Neat idea. If i needed a new youtube channel, this would be my "shtick."

Happy New Year Joseph! I really like your videos specially the latest Tesla one that got Jeremy make his own on it. I wish you would of had Sofi in your list just to see were it would rank compared to Palantir. I learnt and lost lots of money since stocks have been declining since 2021. I will only invest in S class stocks from now. To this date January 1 2023 what in your opinion are the top 3 best stocks out there in the market.

Would be very interesting to a stock chart comparing the growth in net free cash flow less stock based compensation and see how the latter measurement compares to the growth in a stock's price compared to other methods of stock investing. Was sorry that the author did not do the same analysis for a stock I know if one of his favorites -- Texas Roadhouse. However, since he says in other videos that that company has been conservatively run I would say that it has a net increase in free cash flows (operating income less stock based investsing so it would have an A or B rating. I hope the author, Carlson, does what I suggest he do above to see if there is any correlation between net free cash flow less stock based compensation to see if it is a good predictor of a growing or negative growth in stock price.

12:40 Long Kellogs and short TTCF was a great investment. I made lots of money shorting Amazon, NFLX, and NVDA this year. NFLX stopped me out. Shorted at 290 took profit 260, stopped out 280. It is whatever. AMZN I am just riding the 140 strike puts leaps. I just sell in small chunks on new lows and sell monthly puts against my 140 strikes. I think it can go to $50, but I won't be as jacked on puts.

Maybe just use outstanding shares as a counter in the free cash flow chart? Companies could offset the SBC with share buybacks. Then you cover both SBC and buybacks with one punch.

Microsoft share count has gone down 5% in the last 6 years. That's -0.83%/year. For a constant P/E, this gives an equivalent yield of 1/0.83 = 1.2%. added to their 1.1% dividend (which they raise over time) gives a current yield of 2.3%.

Love this but am a little confused that Amazon is rated so low for cash flow and yet you have another video calling it the perfect stock - or pretty close- and would like to have had you comment on that. Also Tesla seemed pretty praised here as just a company but your video on Tesla alone seemed to be less enthusiastic?

This is an awesome video Joseph, love it! By the way I disagree with you on Meta, I think it is becoming a value trap for many investors as Zuckerberg drains Meta's cashflow for a vanity dream. Meta is best a "B", but realistically a "C". All other ratings are spot on!

Hey Joseph. Just a thought on your stock compensation segment. Would it not be better for Google to give the stock (15% annualized return over the past 5 years) to employees and reinvest that cash instead at a 24.5% ROIC, rather than pay them? Thank you for sparking that thought, by the way!

With continued quantitative tightening from the Fed and interest rates going up the only stocks I added are Energy stocks. I’m expecting the market to drop at least another 10% maybe 15% in 2023. I personally owned some of the stocks that were mentioned in this Vlog long term, and have no intentions of selling. AAPL, MSFT,NVDA and ABNB. 2023 will be interesting to say the least and wishing everyone the best✌🏻🇺🇸

With NVidia growth you need to understand that their GPU (graphic cards) were heavily used in mining the bitcoin and ethereum. Ethereum now moves away from mining, so GPU is no longer needed, and the crypto is questionable still... plus the electricity getting more expensive, the bitcoin mining is not as profitable as it used to be... That means there is less demand for the GPU and less profits for nvidia to make.
