Omg guys, there aren't 'so many ballads'. There is a number of ballads, that's very similar to the amount of ballads that's in the contest every single year. You just heard a few of them in a row, and created that narrative in your mind. Where were you when Hasta la Vista, Feker Libi and Supergirl were released back to back, to say 'it's just another uptempo pop track'. Exactly.

I don't like most of the ballads this year, but I wouldn't write something off JUST because it's a slow song (not saying you do this, but some people do). A good song makes you feel something, whether that is happy or sad.

Best ballad by far this year and my number 1 overall. I’m usually not a fan of a ballad, but when a song manages me to get tears like this one, it means it is a good song because I never cry. Germany, Greece and Israel come 2nd, 3rd and 4th. I haven’t decided yet exactly which country to give which place.

I agree - there is a lot of either ballads or querky prococative uptempo things. That should leave some room for more traditional pop songs - however, some of those have been rather conservative this year (France, Spain etc).

People are complaining every year about countries sending ballads...ughh... Guys...this is a song contest. Even as a fan, yes, we do enjoy those entries that makes you bounce your ass off from your seat BUT HONESTLY...SINCE 2000 how many uptempo songs have won Eurovision except for that period from 2003 to 2009. Up since then, mostly ballads have won BECAUSE juries are there to judge the complete package. And you can have a winner song with a ballad that can be the complete package.

"Everyone wants to be Duncan this year" Well.. probably 'cause he won last year 😂😂 Of course some people are going to try and copy him in hopes that they win like Duncan did. Eurovision in recent years has basically become "Hey, this song won last year, so we better do something similar because, obviously, that is the formula for a victory". But, because now it is the age of the internet and millions of songs that are released each year, styles and preferences change almost on a daily basis, that's why one year we have a ballad winner, the next year it is a jumpy, happy, party song, after that a ballad again and so on.
