My top 10 from last year in no particular order: East of Eden - Steinbeck The Goldfinch - Donna Tartt Slaughterhouse V - Kurt Vonnegut, contender for my favourite book alongside 'The Brothers Karamazov' and/or 'Mrs Dalloway' Roosevelt: The Lion and the Fox and The Soldier of Freedom - James McGregor Burns The Name of the Rose - Umberto Ecco, Sherlock Holmes mystery but 10x darker, set in a medieval monastery with a monk-killing murderer on the loose Determined - Robert M. Sapolsky, an argument for the absence of free will, or at least for a mitigated form of free will The Count of Monte Cristo - Alexandre Dumas Epidemics and Society: From the Black Death to the Present - Frank M. Snowden Les Miserables - Victor Hugo An Essay Concerning Human Understanding - John Locke I read 108 books in 2024 compared to 143 in 2023. However overall I read more in 2024 with the average length of each book being 424 pages. I have no life. Subbed, production quality is very high for a channel of your size. I've shelved 3/5 of these recommendations onto my TBR for this year (I've already read the other 2), I think I'll enjoy the Tokyo mystery the most :)

It took me until about halfway through the video to see that it’s got less than 20 likes and your channel has less than 5k subs. How shocking, the content and quality of this video is that of a large KZbin channel. Keep up the good work

Do you have a Goodreads or something? I'd love to see the other 97 books you read in 2024.

Great video and recommendations! Your excessive use of "like" however, is quite jarring (in my opinion) (i.e., around 4:44). Anyway, definitely adding those books to the tbr.

great video // well-done production // all those books (the specific five) aren't really for me, but I'm mainly a philosophical non-fiction reader (yes I'm a nerd lol) // regardless, well done chap

my favorite books from 2024 are either the goldfinch by donna tartt or steal this book by 60's yippie activist abbie hoffman. steal this book isn't a narrative story but it paints an incredibly vivid and intimate picture of life in chicago (and honestly, america) during that time period. abbie's essentially writing a survival guide for people that want to say fuck you to capitalism but it's so much more than that!

in Japan, if a book title would be 100 views of Mt Fuji, it’s not literal. Just means “a lot” of prints of Mt Fuji! So it’s ok if you said you read “100 books”
