Loved this list! There were several that I had never heard of, so those ended up on my TBR. I always love finding Booktubers that recommend books outside of the usual popular releases. Thanks for the vid

my favorite book of 2024 was bedrock faith by eric charles may. such a vibrant portrayal of a neighborhood and it really sucked me in despite the length. i also loved rattlebone by maxine clair. there was one story in there involving how a family handled the care of a son with down syndrome in 1950's kansas that really moved me

I have Body Friend on my TBR after you reviewed it last year. I am behind the times on Julia Armfield and haven’t read any of her work yet. Currently a few chapters into In Ordinary Time and engrossed in the story and the writing. Great list! Hope you’re getting some good rest! My current fiction read is A Little Luck by Claudia Pineiro. So good! My favorite fiction of 2024 was A House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune and my favorite nonfiction was The Sun Does Shine by Anthony Ray Hinton. Two backlist books that I’m glad I finally read!

I thought Liars was great too! I had a lot of issues with Evenings & Weekends, and you know when you're not enjoying a book and a minor thing makes you dislike it even more. I got really annoyed when it said that they hadn't had sex in 12 weeks as the woman was 12 weeks pregnant, that's factually incorrect as the first few weeks of pregnancy are the time inbetween the last period and ovulation etc, so it would have been more like 7/8 weeks. I was in my first trimester when I read it and it irked me haha. Even though I am very pro all the topics discussed in the book (maybe even more so than the author) I thought it wasn't really ever delved into very much and more just mentioned as a tickbox exercise or read as someone who had just learnt about the issues.
