Okay I just got to “I’m glad my mom died” and you convinced me to read it. I would recommend reading The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls (funny they’re both named Jeannette!) because she tells her story in the same way of telling it through her eyes as if she were writing it from that age’s mindset. It was also very sad but amazingly written.
