My top book of the year was I Who Have Never Known Men! There honestly hasn’t been a day since I finished it where my mind hasn’t wandered towards this story

Lovely to see you again! I was looking forward to your 2024 recap. Solid reading year for me, got back into the habit. Ended the year with two new all time favourites: Piranesi and In the Dream House. In the Dream House is a really moving set of essays about the author's experience of an abusive relationship. She does such interesting things with forms, there's an essay that takes the form of a choose your own adventure that I'm still thinking of. Would highly recommend Piranesi, main character is in a maze like house with no memory of his life before the house. So beautiful, i finished it in two days. Piranesi is such a loveable character and the world he inhabits is fascinating.

Thanks a lot for this Video. Just on “Mongrel” -the bias against men was so intense, it became unreal and took away from the otherwise positive reading experience.Every male. character in this book is awful awful, a swine. What a shame having to view the world like that

You’re welcome! Yess - For whatever reason that didn’t impact my reading experience at the time but I’ve seen others comment this since and i do agree

Demon Copperhead was my favorite book I read in 2023 and one of my top reads of all time . A very deserving winner of the Pulitzer imo & I still think about ( and reference in corp0rat3 5tat35 0f amur1ka rants ) it often . 📖🪱💚

I read Empire Of Pain as well prior to reading DC and stay infuriated and disheartened by all this fuck3ry
