The pacing only really accelerated during moments of conflict. So, the accelerated pacing, when it was used, accented the urgency and panic of the situations Also, literally anyone with an anxiety condition will confirm for you that everything being urgent in no way makes everything less urgent. That's not how that works even a little

@@JamailvanWestering also no. It simply makes the story feel rushed and incomplete because there's missing context or character development. You're not very good at this. Just think about movies with pacing that's too fast. You're left with a sense of anxiety trying to keep up for 90+ minutes and a ton of questions and plot holes. The real problems come when you're expecting the entirety of the Genosha run, or E is for Extinction, or 0 Tolerance or, Fatal Attraction. Which, I think Benny did. Madeline was a big part in the comics. She's not here. She's a C plot. Because in the story being told here she's just not that important. Outside of Magneto, no one in that council was exactly important to the story. So why waste time and money explaining things that simply don't need explaining because those characters are dying in a few seconds anyway. The show adapts X-Men storylines, it doesn't retell them because there's no point. You can already enjoy that story

The X-Men had two main books during the 90’s; Uncanny X-Men & X-Men. Wolverine, X-Factor, Excalibur, X-Force, Cable, and Alpha Flight were other x-books. The only time they crossed over was during the events. I didn’t think it was too much at all. And there was a mini series usually always going on at the time.

I 100% agree with you on X-Men '97, same positives, same negatives. But I have no clue how the comics work (or don't work apparently). I live in the Netherlands, and they stopped selling 'single issues' over a decade ago. These 'single issues' used to contain 2 or 3 US issues without the ads. Now they bundle complete arcs and storylines into inch thick books, releasing multiple books for longer stories, and eventually releasing a box-set of all the books in the story. Oh, and everything is obviously translated into Dutch.

Thankyou Benny!!! Someone said it. There is way too much. Ive been trying to get into the Krakoan Era since like 2022 when Judgement Day came out, but I could never find a simple reading order or recap of events. I saw the other day that there are 727 issues in the whole Krakoan Era. 727! That might not be including Iron Man, or maybe it is. But multiply that by the cost of single comic issues, and you're broke, full stop. Although it may be a great story, 727 comics to read, is just way too much to enjoy it. I've been looking everyone to get recaps of events and where my favourites are during this 5 year Krakoa span like Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, etc, but in order to understand the story for each of them, I'm looking at more than 100 issues for each of them. So i thank you and your team for putting the time in to give us the Fall of X. But in order to understand it fully and read it all, i gotta read the Dawn of X, the Reign of X and the Destiny of X, (the other 3/4 of this Krakoan Era) which will kill me.

There’s a X-men 97 comic that fills in the blanks of events that happen in between episodes, Benny. The original animated series did the same thing. Another reason for the faster pace is because they only have ten episodes for this season, compared to the original series which had 13-15 episodes a season, depending on the storyline like phoenix/ dark phoenix. It’s just the cost of the current streaming service business model.

With the Krakoa era of X-men seemed to push for a new status quo for them instead of fighting another superhero team like the Avengers or the Inhumans for some reason, But after Hickman added new lore and reestablished their place in the marvel universe. Him abruptly leaving only for the long term plan to fall through and reconvene at where they where at originally is just comics always following this cyclical nature that definitely applies to the X-Men cus people always bring write different directions and reinventions of the brand only to never go anywhere. I'm glad X-Men 97 has made the X-men re-surge in popularity again but i feel like with most certain characters in marvel like spiderman don't have mainline runs that reflects the quality of other books or adaptations

I feel like this is also my general problem with comic books. I love the characters but the entry point to understanding what’s going on compared with just picking up a novel is astronomical. I’d much rather get those characters from KZbinrs, tv shows/movies, or video games where events are condensed into easier to digest packages. That’s why I’ve been collecting Justice League vs Godzilla vs King Kong, it’s one 7-issue story with characters I love, instead of needing to follow 19 books for 3 years to understand what’s going on.

What you brought up as ''the problem with Xmen'' was honestly far more then just a problem with the Xmen. It's a problem with comics in general but especially Marvel Comics. Ironically, they try to force you to buy a million comics to make as many sales as possible, but it actually just stops new fans from getting into comics because it's too intimidating, makes many current readers give up on trying to keep up and winds up actually HURTING sales. If I want to read a manga, basically ANY manga, I just pick up issue one and go from there. If you need to use a spreadsheet just to follow a storyline, then that's just a poorly organised run and I as well as many others just aren't gonna bother.

Lenore Zann did a great job reprising the voice of Rogue and she was phenomenal. The animation for X-Men 97 is not bad, it's awesome. It really looks like Jim Lee's drawing of the X-Men coming to life. I enjoyed watching X-Men 97. I'm well aware with what's going on in the current 616 continuity of Marvel Comics, especially with Blood Hunt, Incredible Hulk: Age of Monsters, Fall of X(which should've been an 8 issue event), Wolverine Sabretooth War, Zeb Wells's Controversial run on Amazing Spider-Man, Deadpool & Wolverine WWIII. Plus Hickman's Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate Black Panther, and Ultimate X-Men in the new Ultimate Universe. Other than that, I love X-Men 97 even though I'm well aware of everything that's happened in the X-Men comics since the start of the Krakoa saga which continues to Fall of X. X-men came on Saturday mornings in the 90s. Also seasons in the 90s had way more episodes and more cheaply made so they had more time flush things out

1:40 I did the exact same thing with my family! New episodes of Batman TAS and Justice League premiered every Friday at 7pm on Cartoon Network with repeats every day at same time so after dinner at 7pm, especially on Fridays, the kids and I would watch Batman/Justice League and cheer. I bet you also watched Johnny Bravo, PPG, and Courage the Cowardly Dog. Back in the day, Cartoon Network on Friday night was 🔥.
