I read Blackwood farm when I was 14. I enjoyed the book and the Mayfair Crossover. I remember that Quinn had a biracial son named Jerome who he had from a brief encounter with a maid. I also remember that Mona wanted die like Ophelia in Shakespeare's Hamlet with flowers all round her. So when Quinn found her in his house at the end, she was in a bed surrounded by flowers.

This book!!! I dove hard into Anne rices books in the late 90s. Until I read this one. For some reason it was so hard to read! And then I lost my copy. Kindle canada didn’t have it. So much drama. Fast forward 7 years I finally found it. And finished it!!! It was good! Love the review! Wasn’t jasmine his first human bang tho!? Lol. I agree on the ghost banging. Anne rice had some issues lol

I really loved this book surprisingly. Such a great southern gothic ghost story. Kind of an odd entry for the vampire chronicles, but as a standalone story it was great. Blood Canticle is just a hot mess though...

what I really loved about this book was the vivid description and atmosphere of the bayous and the swamps and the manor. This literally made me book a trip to the us and the southern states. Loved it.

I just thought this whole novel felt like fan fiction. I really didn't like it. Quinn fell in love with everyone he meets. It was eye rolling cringe after a while. Just felt like some desperate fan boy wrote this inserting himself as Quinn. Didn't like what happened to Merrick. Felt like a tagged on "oh and this happens too. Such a waste of a character that had so much more story.
