'Everyone in this room will someday be dead' sounds like a book right up my alley. I understand the feeling of isolation and I find it fascinating reading it from other's perspectives and how they handle it. Will be picking that one up.

I really loved “Everyone in this Room…”! The main character is such a good portrayal of living with long-term anxiety and depression. It’s real, in the sense that things go poorly for her, it can be a bit annoying (which is my experience of my own anxiety and depression) but there are great moments and days in her life! And it’s all done while still being absurdly funny! It’s just a really great story about a normal person with some stuff going on, and how they live through it all.

Seriously though -- Everyone In This Room Will Someday Be Dead was a very good book in my opinion. I think the title is fitting for the main character's internal monologue.

Finally got the chance to actually watch the video and YAY, I’m so glad you loved it! You should definitely read her other book, Oh Honey; the writing style is very similar, but it’s a looooot darker and needs even more TWs than Everybody in This Room. She also has a new book coming out next year, Interesting Facts About Space.

I would love to see you do this for Japanese Light Novels. Because a lot of light novels start out as webnovels that get picked up by a traditional publisher the titles are generally oddly specific one sentence summaries of the plot so people who initially were browsing the website would know what the story was without having to take much time out of scrolling for something to read. We're talking things like "I've been killing slimes for 300 years and maxed out my level" and "My daughter left the nest and returned an s-rank adventurer" it's sometimes more fun just reading light novel titles.

I enjoyed the video. The book I am reading currently is In The Garden of Spite: The Black Widow of La Porte by Camilla Bruce, I'm not that far into it so I don't think I could rename it but from the synopsis I don't think it needs a new title. A book I think that has a click baity title is Drive Your Plow Over The Bones of the Dead don't remember the author off hand.

currently reading: - naming adult autism by james mcgrath and i would rename it (simon baron-cohen's crimes against society and why he must face jail for them) it's a discussion about how autism's view in society was made and who were the key people that influenced that but this guy? oh he's the worst and i hate him as much as the author does - turtles all the way down by john green, renamed to (spirals) just because i think the spiral painting mentioned in it is so impactful and it fits the struggles of the main character keep thinking of it as the spiral book - chi's sweet home by konami kanata, renaming to (yohey and chi discover the world) cause the kid is one of my favourite characters and i look forward to all his centered chapters as much as i do the cat's!

Either I suck at click bait, or my recent reads don't lend themselves to those kind of titles. Probably the former, best I could come up with was "See why other scientists hate Doctor Moreau's secrets to better health!" which is more dubious article than book title. (The Daughter of Doctor Moreau, by Silvia Moreno-Garcia)

I don't know if you already did that in a video, but could you compare the covers and titles of the same book in different languages? I read the third book due to the title. I even showed the cover to my brother and he looked skeptical to say the least 😂😂 The best thing about this book was the title and scandalizing people in public. I agree with everything you said. All along, I liked how creative she was being, going the extra edge. But then came the ending. How could you be so stupid to leave such things for people to read? I thought she was a genius with those plans. Definitely ego issue. A person wouldn't leave behind such a record otherwise. Plain stupidity

0:47 in fact, the italian translation that changes the title sucks - "the last night of our life"??? like???? it literally means the same thing but makes it more ambiguous instead of straight up telling it?????? when the original title works exactly because it's so blunt?????
