So, I know I'm a little late but I've read the first 2 books of the series and I feel like these can be recommended to teens like above 14 cause the series in general just talks about a lot of topics such as racism, mystery sort of coming of age and a lot more, honestly I agree with what you feel about the first book and how it's just a comfort read and light hearted experience because of pip just taking it up as a school project but as we turn onto the second book there's something that has happened in close proximity to pip and she's likely to get affected by it, the whole thing with Jamie's disappearance and just the mysterious atmosphere makes you wanting for much more and as the book progresses and you reach the end you're still not quite fulfilled cause you understand that the whole scenario was something much more than a disappearance it was entirely a different crime that the story was focused on, so yeah just wanted to say that I liked your review. Hope you can recommend and highlight many more other mystery novels for teens yeah. Thanks for reading my comment whoever did!

​@@azrazuber1338 I understand that you've read it at the age of 12 and I have no disagreement with that I'm just giving my opinion, and being in the same age category of teens 14 and above, I believe the 'Young Adult' fiction is more suited for that age category as sometimes there can be heavy topics that certain individuals might have a hard time processing in twisted tales like these. I hope you see where I come from and that we both can respect each other's opinions. PS: I don't really think there's anything to laugh about.
