Nynaeve's arc throughout the series is one of my favorites.

I've been waiting for this video since your review of the first book. It's fun to discover how your opinions are growing, changing, or shifting as you continue the series. I myself have only read the first five books and don't plan to read book 6 for a while but I do plan to read them all. I also love Loial. He reminds me of my older brother who has autism and is a big, sweet, awkward, and interesting guy.

I finished the series long ago, and enjoy seeing the views of current readers. My favourite series ever.

Matt really starts rising in book 3. Ultimately, my favorite character of the series.

YESSSSSSSS!! Cracking book, you've got no spoiler concerns reading after the show mate, they are not telling RJ's story at all lol. Flicker flicker = top 5 scene in fantasy across the board, 5 ride forth? I mean come onnnnnn. Rands leadership arc, just so different from so many others, and so much more realistic. I love that book cover! I think i want that edition!!

I love your enthusiasm for the series!! If you love it this much already you're in for a wonderful journey that you're really only just beginning!! The first 6 books and the last 3 or 4 are my favorites! I have now subscribed to your channel and want to just say welcome to the fandom and if you haven't already realized it, this is statistically the best fandom ever!! So many great people to connect with and discuss your experience with the series!
@lightblindedfool95106 ай бұрын
Also there's a bunch of great podcasts out there for first-time readers that discuss the books chapter by chapter and are spoiler-free!! The Wheel Weaves and Wheel Takes are my favorites!

Oh, and no spoilers but I think you're going to love Mat even more in book 3 😀

Finishing it today (The Great Hunt). I'm slightly behind on your Wheel of Time reading pace. I'll catch up (hopefully).
@arch10176 ай бұрын
Yeah, I must admit my experience was similar - I enjoyed Eye of the World, but it didn't blow my socks off. There were things I liked, though - enough to move straight on to The Great Hunt. The Great Hunt was a massive step up, and was a big part of the reason I decided to plough on through to the end of the series without taking any breaks, and what a journey it was.

I do love some of the visuals that the TV show has created. It really helped me solidify the look for some things that were a bit foggy in my mind. I'm quite glad I found your channel while you are early in the journey that is Wheel of Time. I really hope you enjoy it, and I can't wait for the next video! Robert Jordan is a master of subtlety, I've read the series 3 times, and even on the 3rd time through I was still picking up new hints and foreshadowing.

Happy that you got to book 2! On to Shadow Rising! Try to get to that one before S3 of the TV show gets released. Nice that you picked up Egwene vs Rand's dealing with the Power. Rand was always my favorite, but he's an aquired taste due to all the emotional stress not everybody's is into (he can be quite an ahole). Mat will become Mat soon enough, but just like the show, we haven't seen Mat yet. How I love (even though Mat was a dick here) Rand and Mat's friendship When will you do Dragon Reborn? More, more, more!!

Great video Isa!! ☺️ So happy you enjoyed book 2 and i believe you will evej more book 3 as i think it plays around more with some of the characters with big potential (Egwayne, Matt and Perrin). Excited to talk about book 3 in may!! 😍 Lets hope the series will be as good and better than the last few books! ☺️

Based on the things you express hoping will come to pass, I expect you’ll find a lot to like in book 3. Also, a lot of first-time readers especially like book 3 and book 6, whereas re-readers like me will often tout books 4, 2, and 5. I’m glad to see you appreciated book 2 so much; not all first-time readers do. I suspect having watched the show affected a lot of your likes and dislikes, including probably your rooting for Mat. Almost no first-time readers admire Mat in the first 2 books. If nothing else, you have zero Mat-perspective chapters so far. I think it’s perfectly okay not to click with all the main characters or to have fallen in deep love with them yet. As you noted, Jordan is okay with taking his time building his arcs. If you do stick with this series, I expect-like pretty much everyone who finishes the series-you will think of many of the characters as people you know. I’ll be curious to see what you think of Mat and Perrin especially as you go through the next couple books. I read these books when they were first published. I was young and dumb then, but one of the things I didn’t realize I loved about the books then, and something I appreciate a lot more now, is how many strong female characters there are, and how integral they are to the plot. The ‘90s approach to gender is over the top, and many of Jordan’s “men are from Mars, women are from Venus” tropes definitely didn’t age well, but I applaud his attempt at greater representation. I also like the variety of appearances and cultures he features in the world and the story.

The Great Hunt was one of my favourites of the whole series, I think I devoured almost 80% of the book in a single session - I think you'll really enjoy a lot of the larger arcs based on the characters you're liking right now - Rand, Egwene, and Mat all get better and better, while Perrin sadly kinda stalls out a bit

That's cool to hear! I've been meaning to get to book 2 after I found book 1 not all that interesting, but I hear it gets better. I plan on reading a book every 3 months of so, so I've got to finish book 2 by June

I am in my 9th or more reread and still find gems in the first book that is relevant right at the end of the series. I just happen to be on this book today too 😂 Just a note about Matt they you said did not feel good with you in this book; his attitude towards Rand changes after the “flicker, flicker, flicker” scene.

I refuse to watch the TV Series (after seeing season 1); it’s “Wheel of Prime” for me. It’s not cannon and destroys the story.

You should if you are into world building. I only got to book 4 about a decade ago and lost interest. I restarted the series this January and just finished book 5. It's a lot better than I remember, and I am confident I will finish the series and am quite excited about the prospect.

Books 3 and 4 are the best books until 11. There is a definitely lull with books 9 and 10 but if you push through the end is worth it.
