Hi Jocelyn! I happen to have an Xbox 360 Kinect that I was thinking about listing. I only used it a couple times (I’m an adult 😉), it’s in perfect condition in the original box that’s in amazing condition still, too. Happy to not list it if you’re interested. I’m almost caught up on all of your videos. I’ve always loved antiques and you’ve inspired me to get into reselling. Thank you for helping me find my passion. ❤️ I was so unhappy in my job before I lost it due to Covid. Finding your videos gave me the inspiration to leave corporate America. It’s never too late to reformulate. 💪🏼✌🏼🤟🏼

The hanging air plant piece was made in the 90's and was actually used to start new roots on plant clippings. You fill the little vessels with water and set you plant clipping in it. I had one that hung in my window and produced alot of new plants.

When you run across pottery and glass the are signed, but not commercially produced, these are known as studio pieces, as in the artist and/or craftsperson are making these as a source of their main income. Some do become recognized, but there are many great artists and craftspersons that don't. This is where the buyer needs to know a little about what goes into the making of these products. A quality piece of pottery should have walls of equal thickness from top to bottom. Bottom heavy pieces feel bottom heavy and are not desirable for the collector. To a great extent the same goes for glass. Sound pottery has a ping sound when tapped. Internal flaws will give a dull thump. Glazes should not be too thick or too runny. This can cause the an unevenness to the glaze. Some pottery pieces command higher prices depending on the clay mixture and the type of glazing done. Crystalline glazes are done on a porcelain body. Stoneware can be treated with slips and glazes to create interesting patterns and designs. Stoneware is glazed with the standard pigmented and transparent compounds, but can also be done in a specialized kiln that uses salt to create the transparent, orange peel texture. Raku is a stoneware that has more than normal sand in the clay. This keeps it from exploding during its trip from the kiln to the trashcan filled with combustible materials. This will result in giving the pottery its signature black body appearance. Hair, horse, dog and even human can be wrapped around the pottery before the firing. This will result in a very fine, almost ink-like, line in the clay body. Crystalline, Raku, and hair pottery are highly collectable, expensive to produce and therefore can be more expensive than the more basic stoneware products.

1:40 Ah, finally you scored some postmodern. Early eighties to early nineties. There are several branches. This is Milano Memphis inspired. Italians, again. Hard colors and contrasts, clashing. This has influenced much of typical eighties design. It is postmodern because it abandoned minimalism (modern), reduction. Postmodernism adds things. It does something because it's fun. There are also more modest forms of postmodern design. I have pieces that that are more playful with modernism (adding modern things). And I have pieces with a foot in a traditional style. Traditional modernism mostly (art deco). It is allowed to shine, to have bling, gold. This in contrast to, rebellion against, sober minimalism. It has curves and things going on.
