IPSWICH TOWN Despite being founded in 1878, 1938 was the year they finally got elected to the Football League for the first time. Believe it or not, they won the top-flight title in 1962 but what makes it crazier is that they won it as a newly-promoted team from the 2nd division before Nottingham Forest did the same thing. Unfortunately, they got relegated two seasons later. They also won the UEFA Cup in 1981, beating AZ Alkmaar in the final.

I think the reason why you didn't do well in season 1 is because they're a newly-promoted team. A lot of times in the first season of any career mode, you will see those teams either just survive or get relegated. In real life, I predicted them 9th at the start of the season because I only followed the hypers. Some people even predicted them to get relegated Imagine what it would look like back then if you managed Norwich City in FIFA 11 (season 1 in the Championship) or Southampton in FIFA 12 (season 1 in the Championship). They were newly-promoted teams in the Championship in those 2 seasons (Norwich City in 2010/11, Southampton in 2011/12) yet they somehow got back-to-back promotions.
