Thank you so much for being 100% honest Jim. So many of these channels are bought. I greatly appreciate honestly as im a new ham on a budget and can't afford to buy bad stuff.

Other channels reviewed the H3 with similar results. First one failed, TID-provided replacements good. They want the serial number to track which batch your radio came from. They may have made improvements along the way and want to know if yours had the improvements.

My Tidradio TD-H3 wasn't tripping any repeaters. After some troubleshooting they concluded my unit is defective (not sending CTCSS). They're sending me a new one. I think Tidradio support is excellent.

I have several HTs, including Yaesu. The TD H3 has a lot of capabilities when it is unlocked. It is easy to program with Chirp and upgrade the firmware with USB C cable. I bought another one. I look forward to your next test.

The response is nice to hear of- though I wonder if it is something of an AI coached response or if there is a real human behind it as the letter is not signed by a human. People make a difference after all, and there is no name on the image you posted here Jim. When I for example, contact Yaesu's repair staff, I always have a human I am in touch with- not an anonymous "team". If you want to build a relationship, you need to have a point of contact- that is after all, how our ham fraternity works. 73 OM and thanks for your work on showing us these units.

I made the decision several years ago to no longer review inexpensive Chinese handhelds. It's all the same radio with a different 'skin' and more often than not, it is going to be a hot mess. Why perpetuate this nonsense?

Ask them to please resize the H3's display bezel. It is undersized to the screen below it and looks weird.

Thanks Jim. I wonder if they will replace my HT I bought two years ago that I can't use. If you thought the H3 was bad, you should see my TD -H6. It transmits simultaneously on more frequencies than an old push button car radio. I can pop the circuit on my CGI outlets with it. It also killed one of my computers. Wasn't too happy about that, but I don't have enough knowledge to understand why. Praying you have more good days than not so good days, de James KA9TII

@@Rubedo777 Well, that sounds like a great idea until you look at it from their point of view. (I'm one of those considerate people) If they do it for one, the might put themselves in the position where they might get pressured to do it for all. Can you imagine how many radios they would be replacing? Even though I didn't start hearing about how bad they were until after the return window passed, it's my own fault for not testing it right after I got it. Lesson learned. 73 de KA9TII
