The springs aren’t necessary but just ease of mind you dont get a leak i guess. They rattle for about 5 minutes as the exhaust heats up

I had the Tomei 80. Not recommended. It's a race spec muffler for a reason. I sold it in less than 3 months despite really wanting it beforehand and liking the sound. I like the sound, not the volume. It's only tolerable with the silencer and you can't drive hard with it installed. Also, you lose lower end power/torque because of the diameter differences, turbulence, and lower exhaust velocity. I was also not a fan of the lack of flanges. The exhaust was easy to leak. It really only helps in the upper RPMs. Being turboed myself, it showed potential up high but at the cost of drivability and noise considerations. I purchased the Fujitsubo Authorize RM and it works in all RPMs with the turbo and it sounds just as good if not better.

I would recommend the springs for the Tomei as it’s extra support for the catback. You’ll need it as your are lowered and you could hit things while rolling that could knock it off easier. -Rallysport rep Josh
