@tekknohd21 күн бұрын
@@billy.the.maker. @kedwyd6535 a lot of what makes movies have high budgets is not only the time it takes to render but also when a project is so huge you have many different hands on the same shot and every time a shot goes wrong you have to get so much approval to add or subtract things from a shot and this can sometimes take weeks. It really depends on if you have a really good CG supervisor that has a good relationship with producers and directors and can function efficiently. Also Minus One looked incredible and won many awards including the Academy award for best visual effects, so I would 100% say that it looks better than 150-200 mil budget movies.

The reason why smoke simulations look so similar to water simulations is because from a physics/engineering perspective, they are pretty much identical. In science we refer to gases and liquids as 'fluids', because their behaviours can be modelled using the same sets of equations (Navier-stokes et al.). The only (main) difference between the two is the density and viscosity of the fluid.
@ShanfredMetalface19 күн бұрын
To be honest in VFX whether it's smoke or water or whatever they are also just referred to as fluid simulations.
@eSKAone-10 күн бұрын
Water isn't compressible though.
@TheMightyHams10 күн бұрын
@@eSKAone- You're technically right, although under large pressures there is a measurable compressibility with water. In the scope of 'solving' the equations (navier-stokes etc.), the main difference between compressible and incompressible fluids is the complexity of the equation as you're able to cancel out certain variables in an incompressible analysis.

The only problem with the 100 hours simulation is the transition between the water level raising from the 3d simulation and the flat sea level near the camera. It looks like adding a 'rectangle sea' to cover something. It is clearly visible when the whale hit the ocean again (11:20), the 3d simulation is completely white, and the flat sea level is completely dark.

Dude, can’t you just be a voice actor who uses Ai? That’s what I’m thinking of doing . You could outperform people who just use Ai as well as voice actors who don’t.
@MaxiLeTaxi4416 күн бұрын
@Author_SoftwareDesigner I want you to think long and hard about that comment. The point of being a voice actor is using your voice. YOUR voice. You CAN do that, sure, but I raise you the question of why should I? That makes me feel talentless. I can do every voice (except female, but I am actually training to do so as a male) that AI showcased in this video on my own. Probably at a 99% copy rate. It's called training and talent. Hence it became a thing. You think Mark Hamil or Dee Bradley Baker use A.I? No. And look at the power of their voice. That is something this A.I program removes any need for. No nee dfor talent, training or even a human and THAT makes me feel sad. I've worked hard to maintain my vocal range, and along comes a robot to do it for you. Not perfectly, but everybody will just use that to pay an actual human wishing to eat food and make a lil money by using what I've been given in life. And that is a talent to sing, voice and act. Two of which A.I now do for people and they'd rather do that because humans have lost the ability to want to be social in this cruel and digitally revolving world. So, respectfully. I could. But hell no. To quote I am enough in my own voice to not need A.I.
@andrzejnadgirl202915 күн бұрын
Then if you're serious about your VA then you should get into AI tools as well. I've seen what a good VA can do with AI enhancement and results are absolutely amazing already. This is the first video of yours that I saw just because it was recommended to me and I'm not really into VFX but I thoroughly enjoyed your creativity in filming and creating THIS video. My favorite part is probably the Attenborough-ish narration of you, hahaha!

Incredible work! great explainer details while also creating great details. I mean you didn't have to go out into several beatiful locations for talking head sequences, but you did! You have clearly spent some time in Houdini compositing workflows!

my jaw dropped at 100 hours work... i mean everything looks perfect. the only thing i noticed is that the water waves made by the tulkun go to left and right, but they dont come trought the camera which tho is something u notice after a few times watching it so amazing job.

I'm just starting to study Houdini and seeing this work is absolutely awe-inspiring! I really respect you! Can you tell me how long it's been since you studied Houdini and how you studied it? I'm Korean, but there are few Houdini data in Korea.
@erikdoesvfx10 күн бұрын
Aw thank you! I've studied it for lots of years!! It takes patience but it's so fun!

bro. just a quick glaze: you not only mastered VFX artistry but also content creation and editing for long form KZbin. Both of these skills take YEARS to develop. This is an insane amount of work that i could not even comprehend. I would love to see a BTS process for coming up with ideas, scripting, doing the actual VFX, the editing, and who is on your team or if you do it all yourself. Thanks bro! Can't wait until you hit 50M followers in couple years!
