He was drifting from Ab towards A as he did the vocals so the autotune kept trying to "fix" the notes higher than they're supposed to (for example changing the "D-C#" he sung on "need" to "Db-Db" instead of "Db-C" which is what it's supposed to be) so that's why it sounds dogshite in some parts lol I'm pretty sure for the hum an octave higher in the chorus he forgot to have the autotune adjust to Ab so he sang an A harmony over the Ab bass bums which forms a minor 9th interval which sounds extra horrendous
