Poem, spoken word accompanied by guitar.
In distant realms of time and space,
A city gleamed with heavenly grace,
Babylon, a name that whispers lore,
Its golden walls, an ancient allure.
I remember Babylon, a shining star,
Where dreams were forged and rose to soar,
Its towers touched the azure skies,
A wonder, whispered in distant sighs.
A beacon in the desert sand,
Its beauty echoed o'er the land,
Glory, glory, once it shined,
In aeons past, its reign enshrined.
Yet Babylon, as legends do,
Began to fade, as time withdrew,
The sands of time, a steady creep,
O'erwhelmed its streets and buried deep.
I remember Babylon, I sigh,
A city lost to time's fierce tide,
Its glory whispered in the wind,
In tales of old, the past rescind.
Babylon, I'll ne'er forget,
Thy name, thy tale, a scarlet thread,
In history's tapestry of stars,
A radiant gem, forever ours.
