Oh Janet your voice is so beautiful. You captured my heart 12 years ago and your voice still makes me cry. I'm so happy to see you happy, healthy and releasing music. All my love, Anna x PS - I'm 3 years and 4 months clean and sober. Depression still grips my soul in it's suffocating darkness, but I'm still here, and I'm so glad that you are too 💗

@@janetdevlin Thanks Janet, that means a lot, and thank you for sharing your vulnerabilities with us. If I'm completely honest I still have a problem with benzos and opioid pain killers. The thought of withdrawing terrifies me. How did you do it? Did it feel like you were going crazy? You haven't talked much about your benzo detox in your first week of rehab, but I imagine it was horrific xxx
@Freemasons173210 ай бұрын
@@The_Viking_Highlander Im 13 years clean from benzos and pain pills. They have some good meds to help with the worst of the withdraw symptoms (not methadone). One that is called clonodine which can be a god send. But I didnt feel like i was going crazy. Mostly just anxious and bad body feelings (goosebumps, chills, restless legs which make it impossible to sleep, diarrhea and so on...) I have mental illnesses, but they didnt get worse during rehab (for me, not sure thats common though). The hardest part is mental attitude. Thats why a support group is good. You do not need AA if you have a support structure at home like i did. AA was not right for me. Too many reminders and temptation. If you have family support, thats all you need if you find AA is not right for you. I only say this because how much they stuff it down your throat during treatment. You can totally do it if you want it. I only had success when I did it for my family AND myself. If your only doing it because your told to, you will have a harder time staying clean. Good luck though! Sobriety IS doable and gets much easier with time. It seems like a lifetime ago for me and absolutely zero temptations. I like who i am now, and so does my family. One of the most rewarding things was almost a year ago when my dad said hes so proud i am finally the man he always knew i was. Its not ALWAYS gonna be a struggle like they say. Time is all you need.

Hearing this live the other night was mesmerizing, you did a great job recapturing it here. You've worked so hard the past few months and it's all about to show for the world to see. Not that you don't already know, haha, but man, you have so found your niche, there's just something about your voice, especially the way it's matured and improved over the years, with it's expressive emotiveness and your newfound mastery of your lower register, and the vibe of Country music that just mesh so well together. The world seriously just isn't ready for your new album

You're LONG overdue the respect you deserve from the industry at large JD, you've worked too hard, for too long, against too many odds, and mark my words, take a screencap so you'll know how right I was in future, this album's gonna turn some major heads, on both sides of the Atlantic, and get a lot of people talking about what "Country" as a genre is, should be, and can be@@janetdevlin
