Halo created something good, I only wish to see that good in itself or other games once again. I was there, I witnessed what the franchise and majority of games nowadays turned into. It's okay to move on, but I don't think we moved onto better things. I don't like changing your opinions, don't think I am doing that. I just think a lot of talk and time has washed away the magic that was Halo. It was something else. Anyways I hope you enjoyed the video nonetheless or I bring some good conversation here in the comments. To any returning viewers, sorry for being MIA a lot. These videos have burnt me out and they can take a while to make. Still learning to be more efficient as I go and get a better strategy down.

It's harder when you have depression issues, like myself. I was a happy kid you know, every day consisted of a new adventure, smiles and rainbows, walks through green meadows. I'm an adult now and everything is different. The sky is grey, and no matter how hard I try, life seems to mean so little to me. Smile? Sometimes I wonder what that is. What does it mean to smile? It's been so long.. But, I wouldn't take some magic pill, and I would never make any kinds of crazy deals to make that pain go away. Those rose tinted glasses of nostalgia grow stronger when all you see is dark skies and rain, in fields of grey and pain. But why should you care? You're just some random person.

I’ve said it a million times and I’ll say it a million times again: Halo 3 was so big that it got the then-richest person on the planet, Bill Gates, to stay up past his bedtime and sign copies for sweaty nerds at a Best Buy in New York. Now it's "We need to make a cash cow. Slap together a shoddy, barely functional, game. Re-use assets, don't put much effort into the online service for multiplayer. The cheaper the better. Make sure the monetization is fully functional though. Make sure it's everywhere. We need to get these dlc, seasons passes and battle passes out to collect as much money as possible. Bugs? I hope at least someone sees this comment and realizes the community that was Halo. In 2007 I was 7 years old. Halo had come out and it was the peak of gaming. I used to play with my dad as I’m sure many other young kids did. However, my dad’s friend at work also played halo and he would play with me, a 7 year old, quite frequently. My cousin who is 12 years older than me would play with me. My friends from schools and random people around the world. I’m still good friends on Xbox with my first Xbox friend I added from Halo 3. It’s just crazy how much love was in this community. Sitting on my couch alone in my living room at night I could play with so many different people who all bonded over the SINGLE greatest f*****g game ever made. Long live the Bungie era of Halo.

To me, no modern shooter really has it anymore. Every single one would rather have aggressive skill based match making over in game lobbies to chat on. They'd rather add a store rather than hard to achieve rewards to brag about. Some even lock voice chat or even have it off by default making it quite literally worthless. I just don't find any joy in online gaming in this new era of games being washed clean of community features and making it more about every game being sweaty rather than just random fun.

No Marty o donnel and salvatori doing an amazing soundtrack… etc. no classic maps. Idk why they always feel the need to “fix” something that ain’t broke. Something perfect too… like wtf. Just import or recreate the maps similarly too. Why change the aesthetics and feels??? It’s such a shame cause it had such potential too. Halo 3 and reach were there to show them how to do it… they just had to copy and paste lmfao. How hard is that? The game model and multiplayer model and music composers. It was there… but they decided to screw thinfs up for so many years then Finally just make it hurt more by giving us a tease of potential

It feels like forever ago when me and my friends would run home and play forge all afternoon instead of doing our homework. We used to try and find ways to not be killed outside of maps with crates, most were lost to time besides one, one I found on an old usb stick I'd haul between houses with Minecraft maps and things of the like, "Indians Rule!i!i!!" was what it was called. A map on Snowbound that had a massive pile of crates and cover just outside the map. I'd just recently got it working on an emulator. Opening that forge map, hoo boy, it was like I could hear the bickering from way back then other over whether or not it would work. I could hear his mom telling us she's ordering pizza and the instant hype that drew, waiting for the sacred ring of the bell. Since then I've returned the usb to its small box under my bed. In the usb that save will continue to reside, a memento to those memories from long ago. Thanks for the memories Noah and Victor.

I remember everyone wanted to play a game of Halo 3 forge at the time as there was literally nothing like it. Hell today it's one of the reason kids are obsessed with games like Roblox which is literally just a whole game of forge but far lower quality. Halo used to be a party game, a casual game, a chill story, and a twitch shooter; it had everything. Now, I guess you could say its still a twitch shooter, but is it really anything more than that?

I feel silly for being a grown man, almost in tears over something like this but the games themselves only scratch the surface of everything they’re responsible for… I think the biggest part is that connection. The words, the feelings are all the same, I’m really not the only one. I guess most people watching this were there back in the day. Thank you all for making that game, that time exactly what it was. Maybe things will get better.

This video brought tears to my eyes. So many good memories, friendships, LAN parties (which is pretty much nonexistent these days), and just great times all together. I'm so much older now than when I was 14 years old playing with all my mates. Took me back to those times, and its so personal to me. I feel like if I was to ever have my life flash before my eyes, the halo games, especially halo 3 would play before my eyes. It was just so special to me.

Halo was what truly got me into gaming. It was the real first game where i remember thinking to myself. I want it. Begged my parents for an Xbox just to play. The friends i made while playing. Some long gone but I will never forget. Gaming just doesn't feel the same anymore. I miss the talking to one another. I miss staying up all night sharing a couch with a friend playing campaign. Moments that some will never get to experience. I will always hold that near to my heart.

if you are one of the people who sit and just listen to the main menu music you are a true halo follower, the song alone is enough to make a man cry, especially when you remember all the good times and the memories, its almost too hard to see how far we have drifted from realizing what makes a game good, not the guns, not the map, but the fun times we spent laughing and forgetting the troubles and the sadness of this world, halo made you feel good after playing with friends, but other games don't do the same, it seems like they've lost what it truly means to play games, to play halo all i can hear is the music in my head as . . . .i remember halo, for what it truly was.

Grew up with Halo starting with CE. Made plenty of friends playing and a lot of friends irl simply out of love for the story. I can remember long nights turning into early mornings playing custom games or co-op with friends. I remember feuds started on Big Team Battle getting settled in SWAT. I remember goose bumps and foggy eyes seeing the story unfold and I remember buying every book I could afford to get more of it. Beyond all that, I remember the sense of community I found in Halo. It’s hard to describe the impact this game has had on people. You only have to search “Halo wedding proposals” to see exactly what I mean. It’s sad to think that may be gone, but if it is then I am glad I was a part of it.

I'm very late to Halo, only started playing through the series recently. I'm glad I found it, but I only really remember playing it one time in it's prime when i was around 7 going on 8 years old, about 10 years ago. I was at a cousin's house visiting with my grandma. It was the best time of my life, trying to remember what he told me, trying to teach me how the game works and which weapons do what things. It's all a blur. Like many things, time goes on. I don't think I'll ever get that feeling again, having a blast with friends and family, wondering what fun we'll have next. It was fun though, and it did happen. These memories, faint as they are, will never go away.

I have really fond memories with the Halo franchise, especially with Halo 3 and Halo Reach. I used to play every single campaign on legendary with my slightly younger brother and beginning with Halo 3 we also started playing online. We fought some epic matches and we were quite a good team. We spent countless hours with Halo. Today we are both adults and we are still on very good terms but as our lives were going on we separated from each other step by step. He moved quite far away from our hometown and has now his own little family to take care of. He has not much free time and prefers to spend it with his family, which I totally understand. We live several hundreds kilometers apart and thus we distanced from each other. Which is the rather natural course of life, I suppose. I still have nothing but love for my younger brother and everytime I hear the soundtrack of Halo, I remember the the epic times and all the fun we had together.

It's been a reoccurring trend I see, maybe because I make a lot of nostalgic content. But I see it everywhere and it sets something off in me. I believe I made a good point in the video talking about history and why it's important, for this very reason. Nostalgia certainly can be bad, but I think it teaches us here and tells us what we did right. Time flies and we forget things, memories hold power to remember some of those good things that once was. I'm sure there's plenty of things in history that we thought we learned from, but instead repeated.

My dad got me started on CE when I was 4, barely able to hold the giant Duke controller. As years went on I played through all the halo games, mostly by myself. I’d spend hours making terrible forge maps in halo reach and 4 during my middle school years just running around and imagining scenarios. I took many evenings just playing Halo Wars just enjoying the game that it was. And now, whenever I go back to replay the games or play with friends it’s not the same, and never will be. But I’ll still love halo, it shaped my childhood interests and the old games will always matter to me. Thank you for making this video, I appreciate it.
