@@glitteringsunlight7048 i dont understand when people say this. You shoot a few lights, hit a couple switches and dodge as you run to the other end and jump out. Its like as the remake came out suddenly everyone hates the u3 fight. And that section itself was pretty short, you lose ashley, move through a couple rooms and knife fight krauser, lasers and then u3. Modern lighting and moving & shooting gives the U3 fight the potential to be really good for re4 remake if they bring it into Adas campaign.

I think the movement was less than great, having played on controller only, which I thought was a resi thing - my gripe with the original was the survival horror movement in an action game, which is consistent with the remake 🙂 Happy to hear that others were fine with it, don't get me wrong!

I liked playing re4 remake with the ps5 controller. I didn't have any issues playing with controller. As I platinum'd the game as well with no problems. I played the pc demo and keyboard and mouse felt fine to me as well. Other than that, I agree with your opinions on re4 remake. Good review video by the way.

I just watched idi4300, the creator that mention in the video's comments. It's hard to find a definitive "review" of RE4R on his channel, 'cause his channel layout and video thumbnail needs some more work to be more distinctive. But I would say he had some points, but his annoyance from the game is also came from his own personal view and experience, no objective looks of the overall game. In the first island section he tried 100% stealth, tried to shoot a crossbow man down with the Red9 but failed, and the complained that because he play on "Silent Stranger" run that he cannot get a sniper rifle, proceeded to call the set up dumb because he want the game mechanic to act exactly his way of playing.

Daddy Bawk, plz smash my negative RE4R comment: 'The headshots not causing stuns bothered me so much in the demo, I still haven’t played the full game. It makes zero sense that a bullet to the head of a parasite zombie wouldn’t stun it. TVirus zombies clearly don’t feel pain and are stupid, they are contagious and trying to eat you, therefore, from a gameplay and lore perspective it made sense that head shots weren’t always effective. Parasite zombies do feel pain and work under a semi-hive mind & can dodge. So headshots on them would always have some effect. That was, in my opinion, the big gameplay trade off jumping from the old resident evil games to RE4 back in the day. And it made logical sense. This sad remake basically turns early combat into an RPG where you are hoping for lucky rolls to see if your fucking point-blank-range headshots have any effect on an enemy that is clearly still using its brain.' The reason that people talk shit to Bawk is because during his streams if you say something dumb he reads it and gets offended. He will call the person out and make a little speech about there comment and sit on his high horse. Its not so much that they hate him, its just funny to see him get bent over a dumb comment. (Hence this video... ) Basically He is not only easy but also funny to troll.. He just takes things so personally (like making a video about it ^^^) I remember when he was speed running RE 4 remake and people would come in back seat gaming him or asking him if he has beating it before, he gets pissy about it and falls right into the troll trap. I clearly remember my brother telling me that the devs said in an interview that U3 will be in the DLC "Seperate Ways". Was that something he maybe misread? Or is it just something that not many people have seen? It's always confusing how people question if U3 will be in the game as part of DLC when the dev already confirmed it. And whoever thinks that RE4R has worse controls than original RE4 is insane. The original feels so damn stiff and tanky if you play it nowadays. (Granted I play on PS5, no idea how RE4 feels on PC both the original and now Remake). But on console the remake controls waaay better.

Re4 remake works really well with controllers , specifically dualshock 4. But the Xbox controllers had a bigger dead zone, both on PC and Xbox This was later fixed to an extent. It is hugely improved over launch but still the dualshock 4 is best , followed by dualsense and then the xbox

And, really, anyone who is all like "feminism ruined mah game" wouldn't know nuance if it punched them in the face. I'll throw my 2 cents in RE4 was the most undeserving of a remake just because the original is fundamentally good as a game, aged very well, and is still readily accessible. Anything "wrong" with the original is how people felt it went too far away with survival horror or the qtes everyone knocks as bad when little did we know it could and did get a whole lot worse in other games. In all honesty I'm just in the ̶G̶u̶n̶ ̶S̶u̶r̶v̶i̶v̶o̶r̶ Code Veronica camp where that should've been remade first, with the fault of Code Veronica being so difficult and the tank controls people cannot tolerate or even grasp. I've originally criticized the control feel of REmake 4 but after replaying REmake 2 and shelling out for 3 it was honestly just rust. Outside of Leon still feeling like a slug at walking speed just because of the open environments and enemies being faster overall, it's as good as the others. I agree with people with how it being toned down with the B movie corniness hurts than helps, because it WAS charming. It feels like an in universe adaptation that was made grittier and serious because the people who made the movie think people won't buy that it actually happened like that one soviet movie with that general, along with the "updated for modern sensibilities" vibe that too many people forgive. That and cutting sections and things out always rubs me the wrong way. Granted in RE4s case it can feel more as trimming fat, rather than something like REmake 2s A and B scenarios no longer being different apart from the very beginning depending who you're playing as, or REmake 3 being REmake 3. Seeing that one comment about how REmake 4 is less innovative reminded me of LambHoots video about Rev 2, where he explains how the controls are almost beat for beat with each other. That and going back to comparing to previous remakes, REmake 1 is the prime example of a remake in my eyes. Improving what's already there, and even adding onto it rather than removing. I'm giving a pass though because they were operating with far different design philosophies and the unfortunate reality of modern game dev cycles. So in all honesty that guy IS right in that 4 isn't that innovative. That said, compared to 2 and 3, REmake 4 is what I would call the most faithful of the modern remakes, and seeing it not turn out like 3 does give me hope that other RE game remakes like ̶D̶e̶a̶d̶ ̶A̶i̶m̶ RE5 will turn out still objectively good. And to top it all off here's my gripes because I'm a whiny bitch. Snapping knives shouldn't have come back, things should not have tape/paint to out it from the environment, Desnecudos are crimson heads 2 and shouldn't have been in, the regeneradors are more bullshit because they sway so much, fall down and slither way too fast and will never get back up, iron maidens shouldn't have been a phase 2 for regeneradors, and lastly the armor is removed from Leon when you die and reload while it's broken. Ultimately 0/10 no Assignment Ada.

What I presented there about the game was not my opinion, which I explicitly noted when I wrote that I had a great time with the game and, by the way, I play it to this day. You are the only streamer i watch regularly, I've been watching your yt content since when you were streaming without your cap :) I found the Carcinogen channel like so many other people to use some of his tutorials tactics for making platinum. In many of his previous guides, Carci took every main RE game apart, it was weird to me that he didn't do that with a game as big as RE4R (finally he did). He said that he doesn't even want to explain all the reasons why he is so deceived by this remake and that those interested are referred to the Idi's channel where it's all detailed. That's why I went there and I was very surprised not to say shocked, that someone criticizes this game so much. As a casual player, I didn't notice these things at all while playing the game. That's why I wanted to ask you, someone who I watch regularly and whose opinions I agree with, what as a professional gamer think about this. It was not my intention to heat up the atmosphere or try to quarrel with anyone. Now I read how weird my post was where I write about other youtubers. Guya. I am older than most of you and by the time the first RE came out I was already of working age. So I do not understand all the rules and how all things work in online communities, and even more so on Twitch. I just wanted to give an example of professional players who think the game is very underdeveloped and ask another professional player to verify this opinion. In return, I was classified as a hater or a retard, I was also surprised by how easy it is for Bawk to insult people who respectfully wrote their opinions and accuse them of not being able to understand words, while in my opinion he himself clearly did not understand the meaning of several of the comments quoted, clasifying them as hate. 15:00 what that dude should have said is the character were lacking character and because everything film media or games have been heavily effected over the past years the developers had to go alternative routes in the narrative, Not including iconic lines that added to the characters left the people who fell in love with the og in combination with other reasons it really had people feeling left out including myself, I don’t agree with this persons way of saying it but there’s no reason we shouldn’t have gotten the sexy sounding Ada and left out the slightly flirtatious lines ex: the cabin line bcuz it’s an all fun and games joke because you forget about it instantly once you realize the heavy task you have dealing 27 villagers into dying a few times as a result in when you replay it, you’re excited for the cabin fight, not worrying about some language, others may find inappropriate. This isn’t my whole take on the game, but it is something that holds value.

Bawk, I 100% agree about the Dead space franchise and what has happened to the franchise. However, in my opinion, it was also EA trying to milk the franchise with BS micro-transactions. When it came to making weapons yes, you had free reign on what to do when building them but they put in a currency on purpose to incentivise players to buy it, to make the weapons for profit and at the time people had a bad opinion going in due to that. Another thing was not having the option to play as John, single player is awful. There is still not a mod to play just as him to this day (modders please!) and the game suffers due to that. Some of his scenes are amazing compared to Isaac and not having the option to due so, was incredibly dumb. I would of paid for that, over dumb currency. The remake wasn't perfect but it is still incredible. They both have there merits in different ways and I'll say that no matter what way you play it, it's one one my favourites of all time.

Lol i like running into the group of enemies in the original at slight chance of me just kicking them all and getting punished for it. It was goofy fun. Remake is awesome but do miss that goofy fun which is cool that mods can take care of that need for me. Same in re5 with chris punching everyone down and the funner away if playing that game.

I didn't play it on base ps4 I played it on ps4 pro and it was butter smooth for me i enjoyed it alot and it makes me want to play the original but sadly I have to wait until I can get my ps4 pro repaired

Your comment about the picking between remakes or a brand new story of RE games like village is very unfair. I want to play new RE game that isn't badly written, just because village isn't good doesn't mean I want a new RE game , it just need to better story and lore and I think that is what people trying to ask for. Instead of capcom wasting resource on remakes we can get a new story of characters that should return. For example Jake, Sherry, Sheva, Billy or even Carlos. But can't get that if the Gaming company keep reusing the same story and characters. I like the remakes like RE 4 but I'm hoping for a brand new story to get into.

23:00 I don't think taking damage from attacks that are not even remotely close to touching Leon is a "me" problem, it's an indisputable flaw in the game design. And it happens an awful lot in this game. And don't even get me started on the grabs. I also strongly disagree that what i-frames there are in the game are "fine"...I mean, you can get instantly attacked/grabbed coming out of the roundhouse kick, how exactly is that fair? Especially considering how inconsistant enemy stuns are in this game.

I absolutely loved the remake but it doesn't have the replay value for me. I feel like a lot of the areas are a chore to go through. It was still a fantastic game but I haven't re-touched it since the month it came out.

I want to get a PC to play Resident evil games with randomizers and custom modes like the nightmare or that new campaign for the OG Resident Evil 4.

So for me personally i would say re4 remake is at the top. Was scared at first that something would make me hate it but loved every minute of it minus super small issues. Re2 remake was fun and had a blast. Re3 was kinda a meh knowing so much more potential could had been there. I wouldnt even call these resident evil titles so for me 7 was a disaster and village i couldnt even continue with just how bored i was which i think i blame the characters more for making it boring. So fingers crossed the next remake continues the route 4 took on being fun.

I played on console, absolutely loved the game. and as someone who went in completely blind (and considering og re4 in my top 3 best games) I feel like this game is right next to it now in my top 5.
